Newsweek article on GM's new studio boss

Welburn's whip: a '69 Camaro with 17-inch rims and a bumblebee paint job.

Welburn pulls that Camaro into his GM parking space as early as 4:30 a.m. He likes to start his day walking among the works in progress in GM's warren of studios.

With Welburn at the helm maybe there is some hope yet.

I think any dude that comes to work in a 69 Camaro is gunna have some sort of "enthusiast" blood in him. Him and Nessbit I think should be in charge of the next Camaro. I belive Nessbit designed the Solstice? Also, Welburn designed the Velite and SSR, which IMO are 2 very fine looking vehicles that use a lot of heritage to retro cues.

A guy named Franz Von Holzhausen designed the Solstice. Nesbitt just recently became head of design at Opel.

I'm hoping (with fingers crossed) for some great things from Welburn.

For some strange reason I just "trust" Welburn.
