New VE spy pics
Re: New VE spy pics
lots more pics appearing in this thread http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthre...=53327&page=12
Of interest are these

This one appears to be LHD, it also has a key hole on what would be the wrong side for a RHD car which would confirm this.

Yokohama tyres aren't used on Holdens normally....

Re: New VE spy pics
I actually like that so far. come here as a Pontiac, and a car like that might be my next new ride. I like the 300C and the charger but those 2 cars are now seemingly everywhere.
unfortunately for me, the next gen Camaro isn't in my radar, with 2 young kids and all, I really need 4 doors.
I'll keep driving my 300M into the ground while I anticipate more news about Zeta's coming...

I'm quite disappointed with the VE if those pics are any guide. I was expecting a trendy design but the white car in the images looks like a large, tarted up Opel Astra Coupe. It's not bad, just not overly inspiring.
I thought Torana was more extrovert whereas VE is ultra conservative... almost yesteryear's car. I almost can't believe Mike Simcoe signed off on a design that looks like something we've already seen.
Not ground breaking but hopefully, there are some impressive, detailed cues in the overall finish akin to what the Japanese are able to convey with essentially mundane designs. Perhaps I'm jumping the gun... and those massively flared guards will give the car an aggressive appearance that that's not apparent in the leaked images?

Because the SS is white, you can't make out too much about it's sheetmetal. The side shot makes the car seem like it has those extreme Saturn Aura/Chrysler 300-like wheel arch stampings which would really set off the car. Instead of the relatively shapeless hood of the former V-cars, this seems to have the look of the Torana up front.
I think you're going to change your opinion of the car when you see it.

As for the long wheelbase version, all I'll say is that it's exterior seems designed almost specifically to be sold in the US.
