A new V8 powered Saturn in 2008!!!

It looks like Saturn is moving away from the profitless "small car brand" and will start selling even more upscale models that really make a profit.

A V8 Sportwagon is on-tap for 2008.

Talking Make it a coupe (or sedan ) ...

And maybe me & the wifey will have to take a peak !!

So far, the L300 has been a good car, and fun to drive as well.

If they would just make the rear window bigger - I dunno what it is w/ GM and their small rear windows.

(My parent's ' 94 Buick Roadmaster was the same way. Hard as hell to back up & judge where the rear of the car is. SS = no problem - I can see the spoiler. )

Any spy pics ?

When I think Saturn I think economical, small, cheap, and practical. I don't think big V8 cruiser. I think most other people will agree with me that when I dream of a V8 cruiser, Saturn isn't a name that I could ever picture floating in my head.

A transverse V8 in an AWD vehicle? The new RWD VE chassis will be AWD and V8 capable, and will be out shortly before that timeframe.

I wonder if this chassis is a mixup.

Still nowhere near as strange as Cadillac, Lincoln and Porsche building TRUCKS!
10-15 years ago, I'd have bet anything that Caddy would forever be building cars

My thoughts exactly...although I still wish Buick had been canned and not Olds. I still think the Alero is a nicer car than the Grand Am, and the Intrigue was nicer than a Regal...and the Aurora? A class by itself. I drove these cars daily for 3 years while I sold them...its a shame to see the nameplate die in '04...

Maybe Saturn could get the S/C or turbo ecotec version of the Camaro instead of putting a S/C I4 in the Camaro.

Question And no one will be confused....

I still don't know why GM thinks every vehicle division has to have an entire vehicle line. Does Saturn really need to be anything more than affordable small cars? ..Because I thought that's what Chevrolet was supposed to do.

I guess after Saturn, Hummer will get a full vehicle line. It will be interesting to see how they'll push FWD 4-cylinder Hummer sedans.

I also wonder why there has to be so much overlap in GM's line up.

Perhaps as a hedge against a downturn in a particular market (ie: small cars, or SUVs, etc...)?
