New RWD platform
Here’s some more pics of the Opel concept that could be built off the same RWD chassis of the 2006/07 Camaro.
These pics could hint of wheelbase and width of next camaro

Looks like a very promising platform.
Z28ever, hopefully you're right. The upcoming Mustang is based off a platform which has a fairly sophisticated suspension setup, but it got stuck with Mcpherson struts and live axle (Cobra IRS) due to cost of IRS and easier packaging of Mcpherson struts. Even the concept didn't have this. Hopefully, that won't be the case with the f-bod.

I wouldnt call it a clue.
One of my biggest questions was if ...for cost reasons....they would dumb it down with cheap McPherson struts in front.
The Opel press release, comes closest to answering that question.

Unless Ford is sandbagging...or unless GM really blows it....I can see Camaro having a handling advantage over Mustang.

I wouldnt call it a clue.Your speaking of a Sedan that will end up costing quite a bit more then a Camaro.

That puts it into Camaro's ballpark I'd say.

This is definately the VE platform however i don't think that gm will call it the VE. Probaly some greek letter like sigma, epsilon, and delta are greek letters. Maybe pi.
I think that it is possible for a camaro to built off of it.
We need to wait to see exactly what cars are going to be built off of this in australia. If Holden builds a rwd coupe to replace the monaro, which i believe was discussed here before, then it's almost guaranteed that chevy would build one.
What you all seem to forget with all the talk of the camaro is the gto. We know that the current monaro/gto platform is going to be replaced soon. I bet this is the new gto platform.
So what i'm going to speculate here is that the camaro and gto will be sister cars in a sense. Like the firebird and camaro were. Sorry no firebird Pontiac fans. Both these cars will be built on the VE platform with different traits. The camaro will be more of a performance car. The nest gto will be more of a premium gt in a sense. Again this is my opinion. The gto/monaro was just a guage to see public reaction before they start to build more performance oriented rwd cars. The next gto is the crystal ball which will allow us to guage how the next camaro will be. If this opel is a clue of the nest gto. It's gonna be friggin awesome.
The key to this platform is it's flexibility.
