New Miata @ Geneva

Re: New Miata @ Geneva
I liked the Ibuki concept, but new Miata for some reason seems very underwhelming. Its like the Ibuki and RX8 had a illegitimate child. The only way I would choose a Miata over the Solstice/Sky is if it embarrases the GM twins in the handling and braking department. Vastly superior performance would be worth putting up with the ho-hum looks.

Re: New Miata @ Geneva
its very very German looking inside and out. which isn't a bad thing at all. sort of a mini Z8. I'd have to agree though that the Sky is a much more dynamic design. it IS sad though that Miata's growing up so fast. if it gains much weight, I doubt it'll get the same respect on the track as the previous gens. this could be the end of the Miata we know/love.

You can definately tell there is BMW influence on the exterior lines, and on the interior look and layout. Also interior scheme reminds me of the Nissan 350Z, mostly the seats and shifter look.
It looks alright, I like the current gen better though...

Once the Solstice GXP comes out it is going to embarrass the Miata bad. Turbo Solstice for the price of a 160HP/140tq Miata won't be a hard choice.

The Mazdaspeed6's turbo 2.3L would be nice. I don't even care if it is detuned from the MS6's 276hp to something like 220hp. On such a small car, 220hp would be more than enough.
