Diesel engines have come a long way from the smoking, noisy slugs to the cars of today... 
I don't think it looks very good, but I'll reserve my final judgement until I see bigger and better pictures.
So far I've always liked pretty much each and every model Benz has ever produced, so I'm hoping I'll like this one too.
I'll never have the $$$ to buy it, though...

I don't see how this car really fits into their lineup. So its supposed to fit between the CLK and CL, is there really a market for a 4 door in between those two? If people wanted a coupe, they'd buy a real coupe. Plus, who are they kidding by calling this thing a coupe? 4 doors = sedan, no exceptions. Also, why the hell is MB adopting styling cues from Jaguar? They're freaking Mercedes Benz! Come up with your own original design for crying out loud!
