BlueOvalNews has confirmed that Ford Motor Company will officially introduce the long awaited "Baby" Lincoln LS at the 2004 NYIAS (New York International Auto Show) on 07 April 2004.
Lincoln has decided to call the new model the ZEPHYR - a name that harkens back the to original 1936 model.
The vehicle will be built off of the Mazda platform that will also be shared with other Ford models. Lincoln plans to market the Zephyr as the entry level Lincoln below the LS. Pricing should be close the $30,000 U.S.D. - hopefully, without massive incentives or rebates.

I also understand, Ford decided not to take the time to go through litigation with Pep Boys over the Futura for the Ford's version of the CD13 chassis name. No telling what it'll be now, though one word is the 400 (according to one poster there).

I take it this will be a performance model. So this will be shown in New York?

Seems the GTR-40 is actually a racing version of the Ford GT-40. Wards, apparently, got it mixed up.
Can't blame them. I made a similar mistake late last year.

A racing version huh? Do you think this a limited edition version, or an actual race version? I thought i recalled Ford saying they had no intention of going racing with the GT. There were rumors of a limited numbers of GT's coming out with the Shelby Cobra's concept v10. Could there be any truth to that rumor?
Guess we'll find out next week
.
I think the GTR-40 might just be a concept race model. Something to draw in the droves of people.
I hope that the Jets move to NYC so they can expand on the Javits. It gets pretty jammed up in there. I better go buy a larger memory card for my digi cam.
Sounds like a lot of sweet product is coming out.

I'm no photochop expert and so i couldn't tell if it is fake, but it looks real to me. Hate the big wing, but i guess it is a concept race car.

I'm no expert at photoshop and I could tell that was a fake. The thing in front of the rear wheels definitely looks fake. It definitely doesn't look like a photo (maybe a photochopped drawing?)

Though the person I recieved the e-mail from believed that the GTR-40 was a racing Ford GT, I'm not inclined to think this Mustang picture is fake.
If it is, the person who made it just won my lifetime award for photoshopped pictures.
* Why go to the trouble of putting an external cooling fan in front of the radiator?
* Why pay attention to an insignificant detail like the barely noticible lip on the front spoiler, even though the 2005 Mustangs don't have one?
* Why include a power steering or oil cooler? Especially at the right location at the bracket (which seems to have the correct offset for it's depth from the front bumper)?
* The hood bulge seems to be at the right position.
* They took the time to produce 2 different wheel offsets that seem to be at the right positions and similar.
* They took time to include a safety net inside the car, though it's not easily identifiable.
* They included a roll bar (just barely visable in the ceiling just behind and above the passenger window).
* Even with my minimal knowledge of photoshop, I'd say that see-through grill would have required a ton of work.
Either someone has a combination of great racing knowledge, phenominal photoshop skills, more attention to detail than anyone I've ever known in the military, and a massive amount of spare time on their hands an a fantastic file of spare car Mustang pictures.
Or... the picture is actually real.
