If you got a server that supports php and mysql, and consider doing a redesign on the newagegto.com, I can give you the code I've developed for barshemm.com. It's all themeable and I've not had any stability issues, though I'm still working on features.

You need better graphics and better colors.

Interesting..when I introed the new site everyone loved it.....last time I checked the site was pretty uniform too.....

*The car will have Trans Am like acceleration, meaning low 5 seconds to 60 and low 13

That car is 3600 pnds.Add in a driver and that 340hp will not get those numbers.

Wellsince there are only cosnetic changes forom the Monaro I wouldn't think there will be any build quality issues.

A 3500lb T/A did with 320 HP

The production GTO will be closer to 350HP...

On street tires the GTO wont hit that number.Your also forgetting about the IRS> The car WILL NOT launch like a T/A-I dont care what a GM Exec. tells you.

I think you are wrong....the pre-03 Cobra was laying down those numbers with an IRS and 320HP.

What people forget is the GTO has a new cam aimed at Low-end torque that will get it going better than an F-bodies LS1. I was told the car pulls much harder down low than a TA.

Say what you want though..bench racing a car that isn't here yet is usless...

Untill then I tend to believe the people building the car.

The "new" GTO is going to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. I can already see the look on the faces of some unsuspecting victims after being smoked when they thought they were racing a GrandPrix.

I just won't believe anything until I see

But you are right, bench racing right now is kind of impossible. You can't go on just peak HP/TQ numbers and weight to determine what a car is going to do in a race. Torque curve, weight proportion, suspension, whether Car and Driver is doing the test....

You forget the first rule of performance:

HORSEPOWER wins sales,
TORQUE wins races!

It's already known the GTO will have a higher lift, linger duration cam that is aimed for more torque than the current LS1 or LS6 engine.

It's going to be roughly as quick as LS1 Z28s & Trans Ams.

Remember I said that.

That sucks it won't even have dual exiting pipes. I was hoping that atleast GM would cahnge the single side exit of the pipes, because the car does have a true dual exhaust. Its really not any different than the Monaro in this reguard. They havent changed too much from what I saw in Detroit back in Jan.

These will be great cars but GM just didn't make them different enough than the Monaro and more like a GTO. I hope the money they didn't spend on
this GTO will go into the 06 American based and built car.

340-350hp LS1 thats the same spec motor that I have in my car and the same lingo they used about more lower tq, ie the truck 5.3L cam in my car, back in 2001.

I expect performance will be strong but the kicker will be the IRS unit and the gearing. Weight on Monaro's is like 3600 so I wouldn't expect it to be any different on the GTO. With that in mind performance could be easily mid to low 13's with most manual guys fighting for 13.5-13.8's @104-105mph. Performance won't be too shabby!

Interior quality, fit and finish will be more Audi/VW quality than BMW or M-B. Although very close. Not Lexus quality but good.

The price sounds good and reaonable for what the car is.

So can WE agree that it will perform like a 2001 Cobra then? The average Joe can hit 13.8's all day to where a pro can hit 13.3?

Umm, a freind of mine weighed his TA....a hair over 3800 with him in it, and a little under a 1/2 tank. He MIGHT weight 180, if he was soaking wet. More HP, torque, and about the same weight???? Seems like a no brainer to me I'd bet it will be quicker.

Also, I heard the only option will be an MXO auto or MN6 stick in the first year, and 35K is the cap they wont go over for final pricing. I also have the official color availability list, I believe.
