*GTO will be priced between $30K and $35K, no higher.
*The exhuast on the show car was not the final version. The production version will be true duals exiting from the same side and will NOT have headers.
*The GTO is online for a September JOB1 or production start and will begin showing up in US dealerships in very limited quantities in Setptember. There are no delay's as the most recent rumor claims.
*The car will have Trans Am like acceleration, meaning low 5 seconds to 60 and low 13 second quarter mile times.

Power is not firmly set, but for 2004 will be 340-350HP, no higher.

It comes pretty much loaded....

I am guessing a sticker just under $35K....but $30-35K is what GM is daying.

 

I'm glad to see GM is catching on to the concept of "guerilla marketing." For the last year or so, record companies have allowed signed artists to "unoffically" release "underground" mix tapes through file-sharing services. Even though the whole record industry is in the toilet, the "mix tape" gimmick has helped give a couple of acts major street cred and sales. Free promotion is a great idea, and GM is finally getting with the program.

On the other hand, you're just doing what people say the car magazines do. I don't know if you're being rewarded monetarily, but if you aren't you should consider asking.

If a man's doing the work, he should get paid for it.

 

The only option (besides choosing a color) will be the moonroof.

Brandon, I don't know about the yellow GTO displayed in Detroit, but the red GTO that was displayed here in LA had true dual exhausts which exited on the same side. I got a close up look at it myself.

 

It all comes with sponsorship really.....I have had alot of intereast in that once the cars comes out. Right now I am concentrating on making the site the top GTO site there is.

 

I thought the same thing...but he said it would have a different true exhaust system. The big thing is the headers on the show car being replaced with manifolds.

I thought that they moved the gas tank so that they coud have dual rear exits? I'm disappointed to hear that its only duals on the same side. I was hoping the rear would get a balanced look with dual exits.

 

This is pretty exciting. 340hp with manifolds. I would betcha good money some LTs (If they would fit...this isn't your 'standard' LS1 engine bay) and possibly a system from SLP or Borla would free up about 15-30hp.

That moonroof...is that a tilt and slide one? It would look perfect on that car.

New off the rumour mill is that HSV are going to stop importing the Callaway C4B and Start importing the new GM motor dubbed the LS2 6.0L for their GTS model, could be on the cards for late '04. and if HSV get it you know Pontiac will surely get it.

and by then the AWD set-up will be production ready.

[suggestion] You may want to change the design of your page and choose nicer fonts and font sizes. Create a good, uniform look.

Currently it's a little chaotic. There's nothing wrong with a page being busy, but you don't want it chaotic.

Hmmmmm, my birthday is in September, and the 95 Camaro will finally be paid off in July.

 

Wheres da scoops and dual side exhaust?! People don't usually buy 1st year cars anyway so this will just give more reason to wait for 05 and beyond.
