New GM V8, the LST superchaged 6.0L

LST is a superchaged 6.0L that is new for 2010 = http://www.gm.com/experience/technol...LST_Marine.pdf

But you can only get it in marine and industrial applications. Does anyone know if this is the V8 that was to replace the 8.1L in HD pickups? Is it still going to come out for pickups or cars? I noticed the LS3 and LSA are also available for marine applications too.

Wow, a blown engine making 485hp on regular gas. A pulley and tune for premium and you're well on your way.

I'd like to know the specific differences between this and the LSA and LS9.

This would make a great engine for a Silverado SS.

"The LSA features a smaller 1.9 L capacity supercharger rather than the 2.3 L variant of the LS9. Other differences include a slightly lower 9.0:1 compression ratio, single unit heat exchanger and cast pistons."

I know currently in marine they offer the 8.1L 496 in 375 and 425 HO versions. This sounds cool

Then there are a few more changes they would need to make, then they would have what the Silverado SS should be

Looks underrated or rpm limited for durability, the HP peak doesn't look like the actual top of the curve, just cut off...

Excuse me, but hadn't we heard about the LST quite awhile ago?

I don't know if it was called LST, but there was talk of a supercharged V8 replacing the 8.1L in HD trucks. Nothing ever came of that and then the other day I saw that the LST was new for 2010 Marine applications.

I was looking for that thread. I guess I forgot it was called LST. Looks like they went with a 6.0L instead of a 6.2L

That's typical for marine engines. They have to run at high RPM for extended periods of time, so durability is of particular importance.
