Yeah, I was talking about $4 gas. Some people don't care and will buy one, but I think this number is going to be much smaller than with gas was at $2. Dodge should be looking at more efficient cars than large trucks, that are damn fun, but will not sell.

It doesn't bother me either giving I work out of home. But we are in the minority not the majority. It will fail. Any "fast" truck/suv at this point in time will not do any good unfortunately.

I was a fan of the Ford Lightning. Although it handled extremely well, it was still a truck and going from a Z28 to a truck and feeling stable to me is akin going from a formula 1 car to an 18 wheeler and feeling just as confident carving up mountanous dowgrades at high speed.

I came across an slightly wreaked SRT Ram about a year ago in Arizona at an auction lot that I could have gotten for a minimum bid of $12K. Came very close to buying it, but then that night before, I realized that thing would drain my gas budget in a heartbeat (I drove 36 miles to work each day) and I already have one car staying in Arizona, I don't need another sitting around.

I like the new R/T Ram. It's quick, and it looks great.

I still favor cars, and the G8 sport truck is the only "truck" I'd actually buy. But, still, I like the R/T Ram and think Dodge has themselves a winner here if the price is right.

Somehow, I see the Jeep SRT-8 as cool.

The Trailblazer SS just doesn't do it for me. It's not just the superior performance of the SRT, but it also that Jeep (especially in black) just simply looks way more sinister.

Is this exact engine (hp/tq) suppose to end up in the LX cars? If so, they are going to be quick. Wish I had the money now to get one.

I've found it funny that the Ram 5.7L Hemi has more horsepower and less torque than the car version. I wonder if that will continue in the future?

5.X to 60 is quick in anything let alone a truck.

In the 1/2 ton class: Dodge's got this updated hemi, GM's got the 403hp 6.2L, Toyota's got the 381hp 5.7, and Ford will have the?? ecoboost v6?

I don't care what you guys say...the truck is simply badass, and being a 2WD reg cab, it'll sell for a reasonable price. And, outside of the Northeast, it'll sell well. Very well. I've sat in the new Rams, and they're EXTREMELY well executed, inside and out. The seats, door panels, and dash were very impressive...as was the center console. This is nothing more than the EXACT truck the Silverado SS shoulda/woulda/coulda been.

Its a little sad for me that, as of late, Mopar is piquing my interest more and more. I've considered trading the Comp G in for a new V6 Challenger SE for the wife...$26,900 MSRP nets a V6 with a moonroof, Boston Acoustics 6 CD stereo, 18" alloys, heated leather, power seat and some other goodies. I've also considered, to a lesser extent, selling both Camaros for a R/T "Classic" package...B5 blue, 20" Torq Thrust II knockoffs, "Challenger" script fender and trunk logos, RT stripes down the side. But that would leave us with 3 car payments...which isn't happening

I know my truck will look like a POS next to the new one when the HDs come out in another year. But I still love the style of the '02-'05 Rams, and with our new '05 I appreciate the smoothness of the 5 speed AT, and the Hemi. 17 MPG at a 70 MPH cruise unloaded is nothing to sniff at for an HD truck...not that it'll see duty that easy, well, ever again

It's very unfortunate for Chrysler that this truck was designed at a time when the public actually cared about performance over gas mileage. Such is not the case anymore.

As was stated earlier, great truck, bad timing. Chrysler seems to be going the wrong way at just the wrong time.

I like it, and even if it doesn't sell well, I don't think it cost all that much to design and produce. Only thing that seems specific is a high stall torque converter, which doesn't seem that difficult or expensive to source for an OEM. Chrysler gets press, gets some word-of-mouth at the 1/4 track for next to nothing in actual costs.
