New car market sucks!
New car market sucks!
Im getting somewhat frustrated as of late. Ive landed a decent job out of college so Im not broke finally for once in my life. Also, I'll be making my very last payment on my car in the next month (wahooooo!). Shes a 30th anniversery z28 with about 83,000 miles on her in good shape. Ultimately, I dont think I'll ever sell it. I would like to buy somehting more updated in the next year or so though. But what the hell is out there in the newer car market!?!?!? Absolutely nothing!!!! Im now looking at Ford Lightnings and 2004 cobras!?!?!?! These are great cars, but they're Fords and I never thought Id have to go there. I was interested in the GTO for a bit, but I just cant get very excited about the exterior. It looks way too much like a grand am/grand prix. Ive only owned camaros and I wish it could stay that way (until Im making really big bucks ofcourse). So is there anything else out there or on the way that Im just overlooking?

Lose the back door, drop the weight, and I'll take er' home. I really like the idea of a 425 hp hemi, but even with that much power its pretty slow. Guess I'll have to keep crossing my fingers for the 5th gen. Just didnt want to have to wait that long to start thinking about my next ride. 04' cobra keeps calling my name from the dark side

- Mitsu Evo, Subaru WRX and STi
- SRT-4, Cobalt SS, Ion RL
- If you're shopping Mustangs, also look at the Mach1s.
- C5, RX-8, 350Z, G35, CTS, Solstice, MX5
- And on and on...
If I were you (and I'm in similar shoes myself) with new-found income and a car that was freshly paid off, I'd enjoy not having a car payment for a while, start putting money in the bank, and wait until something screamed "gotta have it." You'll have a nice deposit in a couple years and maybe you can keep up the Camaro tradition. Why buy something you don't have to and aren't really impressed with just to be buying something?
