new camaro? / real evidence??

Many of you have been thinking the same as I about the "return" for the 2007 and 30th ann. of the camaro.

My question is what evidence does anybody have?

or is it all speculation at this point?

Lately, I have been very disappointed with GM motors -
now they charge more for manual trans. corvettes than auto trans.

You can no longer get a half ton truck with a stick shift etc.

I am losing faith in gm motors as far as performance for the masses.

Please post any info. that leads any of you toward thinking there will actually be another camaro / trans am.

thanks for all replies.

there is no evidence ive seen thats credible.youll just get speculation and opinion.

but yea GM motors are disappointing.whats in GTOs and C6s really suck.

from what ive geard from a couple truck buyers is that all the carmakers arent offering manuals in certain types of trucks.i guess most people want autos.my friend just bought a hemi truck and he said it has a 5sp auto.

Wouldn't that equal "General Motors Motors"

The 2007 would be 40 years since the release of the Camaro in 67'.
I don't think it can be called a 40th ann. though - there was a break in production.

Will the 2008 Impala be a 50th ann. model?
I doubt it - there was a break in production.

Corvettes had a break in production so the 50th anna. was BS... well besides some silly paint that is.

The camaro will be absent for 4 years and the car was put on hold, not cancelled. If a Camaro returns by 07 I thinki they will be able to call it a 40th ann. special. Just do more than some stickers for 5 grand please.

Well the 2002 SS Camaro was used for the 35th Anniversary Edition... and there was certainly a huge break in production of SS Camaros from the early 1970's up until 1996.

If you miss a couple wedding anniversaries and all of sudden remember to buy a gift on the 40th one, is it still not the 40th anniversary? What I mean is, hasn't it been 40 years since that faithful day? Certainly it has.

If GM can make money off of selling a "40th Anniversary Edition" ... they will.

You're not married are you?
Miss "a couple" wedding anniversaries..............
Even if it happens once - it won't happen again.

You wouldn't have to worry about the 40th.............you won't make it......

Yeah, but i'd liken this to a divorce or a breakup since the relationship ceased to exist. Temporary we hope.

actually, the 6spd is standard in the new vette, with the auto being optional
now, i don't know if it's a money extra option or just a free option for the auto

On the more expensive manual in a vette, a manual vette is still cheaper than an auto vette.

An auto vette is subject to a gas guzzler tax I believe, which ends up being more than the cost of a manual tranny.
