Ya, I did notice that too...

It makes for an ugly body seem... but I suppose it offers superior access to the hatch area.

C5 already has that design, nothing new there.

I really think theres more cammo on that car than just the front and rear end, but some body and interior stuff as well. No way that hood is done yet, or the door handles, or the t-top looking roof, or the XLR A pilar either. That thing looks like a full blown decoy to me. Maybe not the glass, but the panels don't do have the look of where C6 shoud be going. Plus, aren't those C5 mirrors on it? Their smooth design doesn't really match w/ the edginess of the body lines either.

I see the C6 (those very cars) at work every day (I work at the Milford Proving Grounds), and I've sat in a few of them. Probably drive them before long (hopefully in Nov. sometime). The interior is a HUGE improvement over the current car. I didn't have a big problem with the current car, as I don't need all the luxury doodads and Lexus/Caddy/BMW/Jag/M-B style perfect plastic wonderland dashboards, especially in a car that no other OEM can touch for the price. However, the interior is about the only complaint the press and owners have about the car, so they fixed the weakest link. It is much nicer, trust me.

The door handles are not "Geo Storm" style side pull. In fact, there are no door handles. See the Cadillac XLR for explanation... what you are seeing is the recess where the touch pad is located, just like on the Caddy.

The styling may not break much new ground, but the car will look dang good. I don't think there is much wrong with C5 styling, so why screw it up? It will be a nice freshening.

Performance-wise, though, the car is going to OWN...

Make me feel good, and say all the exposed headlamp talk is

.... :blah: ...

.... on a somewhat related note, one Corvette magazine (Nov 03 issue) is reporting that late some exterior changes are being done to the C6.

I would place bets than the C6 has been done for a few months. I mean Gm wouldn't want its baby to be late to the show would it???

Done how? Yeah, the body and interior are likely ready to roll (at least so close you wouldn't know it), so what you see at the auto show will be pretty representative, but the car is not ready to be sold yet. I know that for sure. Software, calibrations, etc. are still very much ongoing work.

I would have thought that the C6 is testing its Pilot cars the ones built at the plant under very close scrutiny. But the car may also have been hand constructed leaning it more early on than Pilot cars, something like Betas, note I differentiate Alpha cars as being C5/6 Mules (this testing was probably done with the XLR testing using the XLR outside), I consider Beta cars closer to factory offerings but hand assembled in small numbers probably in Michagin, Pilot cars from what I know (very little) are assembled at the plant and are for testing the production ready car. I thought with May being the begining of building the car would be DONE, finished, ready to roll off the production line by now. Is the car not this ready??? BTW B4C don't day things that will make you loose your job I KNOW you aren't the only person from GM watching these boards.

Thanks for watching my back on that, though. I am always careful about that. I don't think they would can me for saying that the new interior is much nicer than the old one, etc. But I'd be a fool to say the engine will be x.x L with xxx hp/ xxx lb-ft...

The outside looks so plain and boring compared to the c5.

WE HAVE CONFIRMATION:

Less than 10 liters, and less than 1000 (but greater than 99) HP.

When will they ever learn.

I still want to believe the sources that tell me that this plain jane c6 is a hoax but with the blahhhh state of GM I believe this will be our plain jane c6, if so it will be a sad day in GM history.

I am hoping that these photos are wrong.
