:blah:

It looks wimpy.

The only Bimmer that I would consider on a real budget is the not sold here 120d 5 door.

Step backward IMO... looks like a previous gen 3-series and a GTO had sex. Nothing against the GTO but we all know it's not that exciting to look at.

The 3 series styling is not bold anymore. The article states it as bolder??? This pic looks Very girly looking, like a funny looking chick car. The 3 -series dominated up until the mid 90s', and is riding off of status and perception now. There is soo much competition in this segment now, I wonder if BMW can continue sales with the new look.

Somebody held the E46 too close to a candle.

Is it just me?

I put a horizontal line from the top of the front wheel to the top of the rear and did the same with the bottom. The rear wheels look (and feel) a lot smaller in pic #2

Otherwise they screwed up almost all the lines on it. They keep taking the perfectly good 3 series and making it worse and worse.

I think there is alot of tape on this car, and I don't think you can make a judgement on the car from this picture, personally. I don't see why they would make the coupe look SO much different than the regular 3 series sedan...

Proportions look spot on. I think this car will look the most civilized out of the way over radicalized range of new BMW's. I'd consider this car, but I know it's going to be stupid money for a brand name.

Oh man, In the 90s and early 2000's the 3 series was so nice. This car does not even make sense. It is horrible looking. Maybe it is one of those cars that looks better in real life. But, from these pics it looks like a Kia or something lame. The flame surfacing flys against common sense and good design philosophy. Oh well, I can't afford one anyway.

The car is fine from the C-pillar forward. From there on back it sucks.

I wonder if they used the ugly "buldgeing" trunk theme in the new 3 Series??

It appears they did not from the pics

Re: New, bigger, 3 series coupe.

I am a HUGE fan of the prior gen 3 series . These new 3's may be better mechanically , but man ....the charm is lost with the new look . Its very cluttered with lots of very defined hard edges and shapes worked into a more rounded body as opposed to the simple perfection of outgoing model . Of all the new Bangle styles , the only 2 versions that are even remotely growing on me is the 5 series , and the M6 ( M version only ) .
