New 2005 Chevrolet Roadster Pic

Here is a pic of a new Chevrolet Roadster based on the Solstice Platform. But no word about a V6 or V8, just 4cylinder.

Why does Chevrolet need another roadster? How about a 4 seat convertable, or better yet a 2+2 V8 RWD coupe.

I'd still be all for a modern day Monza.

I think having a Chevy version of the Solstice will only take sales away from the Solstice (and vice-versa).

IMO it would be better if Chevy were to use the Solstice platform and make a nice, sporty, affordable, 2 seat COUPE out of it. Then it wouldn't be just a Solstice with a Chevrolet styling option

If Pontiac were to offer a coupe version of the Solstice, I'd be in line to buy one today

Actually I do see a market for both. Make the Solstice come standard with all the bells and whistles. Then make the Chevy version come stripped with options up to the same level as Solstice.

A cheap and inexpensive two-seat roadster for the masses. It would be the prefect weekend 2nd or 3rd car. (Or in my case ... seventh. )

I hope there are significant changes. I don't care for rebadged clones of other bands. Saturn's getting a Vauxhall Lightning-inspired roadster also. How about showing off the platform with more variants? A sporty coupe or hatchback perhaps; something more imaginative. Maybe another shot at a Bel Air.

"Son of Corvette" sounds intriguing, but the Corvette will already have a step-son in Solstice.

Hey the more sporty Chevy cars, the better! If they do keep the prices different, they can pull it off with both. But once again, like I've always said, if GM possibly allows Chevy to have a sporty Kappa coupe, (hopefully) a certain 2+2 pony car, and the Vette, I dont see why Pontiac cant have a Firebird slapped in between Solstice and GTO (there is a considerable 15,000 dollar gap to fill).

Corvette
Camaro (or whatever)
Chevy Roadster

Now I can see where each of these have their own markets, but do they all have to be in the same brand name? Thats getting a little crowded I think...

I'm happy though if they do have a version of the Pontiac Solstice. When manufacturers put out too many sports/muscle cars, whos the real winner?

Saw this a while ago, Chevrolet Solstice. Check out the GTO "redesign," pretty good.

This would be a bad idea in my opinion. They'd be better off doing the Nomad.
