The name "ULS" sucks...

For an uber-luxo Cadillac... so here's some suggestions:

Eldorado

-or-

Even better...

Fleetwood.

PS - The obvious play on "ULS" from a wag standpoint is "U-Lose".... You know, like TRD in Toyota-speak actually stands for "TuRD".

I wish Cadillac would get away from the alpha-numeric names. I know all of the other luxary brands use them, but it'd be nice to be different for once. Bentley and Rolls Royce use regular names.

Sounds good to me. The Florida Plate on my 1LE was "UR LOSIN"

I have to agree. Fleetwood would be better than any alpha numeric crap that they could come up with. Easier recognition with the consumers too.

Old Caddy names remind me of just that, Old Caddys.
Big, floating, lumbering, 400 ft of steal and chrome. Great cars, but leave it to the past.
ULS is kinda boring...XLS goes better and goes along with the XLR of being ahigh end product.
LTS- Luxury Touring Sedan?

ULS is more of a work in progress code name.

Fleetwood won't work, ULS is much more than just a new Fleetwood. Fleetwood is the name of an old mans Cadillac.

Maybe Cadillac Ultra

I think it's a given that any new Cadillac will have a 3 character 'name'... but I agree... "ULS" doesn't sound or look very good at all.

Same here. "Fleetwood" conjures up an immediate image of a mid-90s front-driver, burgundy, landau vinyl roof, wire-wheel hubcaps, and an old man with a hat that can barely see over the steering wheel.

I too dislike the alphabet soup names. The problem, if Caddy doesn't ressurect an old name, is finding a new one that fits the image of the car and hasn't already been trademarked for automotive use. Not an easy task, and a major reason why so many automakers eschew proper names.

Escalade doesen't... Although I think the addition of ESV and EXT to the other two models was probably a door for them to make it three letters if they needed to.

Or they may keep if that was a "flagship" vehicle gets a full name. In that case I could see the Sixteen keeping its full name, or going either way, as in, XVI.

Then again... I guess it would a Twelve, or XII wouldn't it...But XLS is good to.

Cadillac considered renaming Escalade when the 900's came out, but it was determined the name had too much recognition to throw out... particularly in the hollywood / hip bling crowd.
