Re: Naias 2006????

Any idea what dates "our community" will be gathering up there? Also, what else is there to do in the surrounding area? Its a loooooong haul from Texas to Detroit. Might as well make a real vacation out of it and step a foot in Canada as thats probably about as close as I'll get for a long time. Anything to do in Windsor to make it worthwhile to get passports for 3 people?

Its just an opinion. Take note of this thread and beat me up when the time comes. I will eat crow.

Something I heard makes me believe it wont be this year. This year would be rather early. But! When you think about it, The GTO concept came WAY early too.

You really don't need passports to get into Canada, just photo ID's and birth certificates for everyone should be sufficient (for obvious reasons though, they're a lot tighter returning into the US than going over to Canada).

What to do in Windsor? Well, if you like the "female dancing" establishments Windsor has them in spades....

As Guy said, it's bound to be a good show and to me, a 5th gen is just icing on the cake. I'm going either way.

Aside from checking out the 'ballet', Windsor has a really nice casino. Or if you have some time to spend, Toronto is only about 3-4 hours from Detroit and has tonnes of things to do including going up the CN Tower.

Re: Naias 2006????

I had thought about going, but then I realized that it's taking place in January. Me being an Alabama boy, I don't think I can take that much cold stuff, much less drive in it. I'll have to wait for pics to show up on the net and wait for the car to make it further south.

Re: Naias 2006????

If you want to see the craziest elevator in detroit I would stay at the Milford Hotel. If you have stayed there you know what I am talking about.

Pros:
Cheap
right by people mover
nice sports bar just down the street

Cons:
by far the worst room I have ever stayed in
I have no idea where you would park your car and I don't think I would want to park my car anywhere near there.

I've never been....this might be a good year to start. Should be interesting.

2008 Camaro....concept/design study shown at the 2006 NAIAS. Sounds about right.
