Why did Opel change their mind about their Kappa roadster? Just wondering...

Only in your not-so-humble opinion. Neh, the first (and only) ugly Corvette came along in the mid-70's. Some of those C3's were pretty questionable. Save for the C6's front end, I prefer it to the C5. Better/more "modernly" proportioned and crisper than C5.

Seriously, your posts used to be halfway logical and well thought out. Lately your use of words like "Crapalier" (clever! ) have shown me a childish side seldom seen around here, short of trolling.

I just call 'em like they are. Perhaps you didn't notice that my 'Stang criticism eased up (a little) when the not-half-bad 2005 Mustang hit the street.
Ehh, I sat in a new Mustang GT at NAIAS and was less than impressed. The interior which is supposed to be so "great" fitted together poorly and the massive dash awash in shiny aluminum (plastic??) was shapeless and would be downright annoying to look at on a daily basis. I can only imagine the glare on bright summer days. What makes the 2005 Mustang not-half-bad compared to GTO when you get past superficial things like styling? Seriously, if GM pulled out a pony car with gimmicky retro-based styling and a solid rear axle I could only imagine your opinion.

Me too!!!! I can't wait for the day when Chevy will release Ford GT-like car for about $15K!

What's different is that I also happen to be reasonable about their current and upcoming offerings.

This coming from a guy who drives a Pathfinder?

Newsflash: Neither in price nor in configuration is the Mustang its competition. Its competition is the likes of TSX-S and Celica GT-S. Cobalt SS will not only beat them in price, it will also beat it in performance and power departments.

A bloated coupe for the toupe crowd?
They should remove about 2 feet from Monte.

I just call 'em like they are.

Re: Mythbuster: clearing up a few misconceptions.

GM hasn't PRODUCED any car in the last 10 years that I would say is completely and totally beautiful. At best, they are pretty good.
Your opinion is as justified as anyone's, but I'd have to differ. You seem to have overlooked a few:

1. 1995 Olds Aurora
2. 1997 Grand Prix
3. 1998 Camaro SS + Trans Am
4. CTS-V
5. C6

Maybe by completely and totally beautiful, you've painted yourself into an unrealistic corner. I believe that even with their foibles, all the above are striking and successful designs.

Re: Mythbuster: clearing up a few misconceptions.

Lets add to that list the Riveria. Last Buick produced with any sense of style.
C5 Corvette is awesome.
1996 Impala SS I wish they gave the wagon the SS treatment too
G6 and the decladed Boniville look nice
STS and XLR are both striking cars

guys, if GM was literally giving their best cars away for nothing, redzed would STILL find something to b!tch about. personally I view his posts as entertainment. if you take anything redzed says here seriously, you might as well consider "Star" or "Enquirer" a good source for news and professional and responsible journalism.

Re: Mythbuster: clearing up a few misconceptions.

You know reading one of Redzed's posts is like watching a nascar wreck, you don't really want to look but you can't look away. BTW why are you here since all you do is praise chrysler for the 300C and promote Nissan products?

As far as styling is conscerned I think the Pathfinder looks worse than the Aztek.

Re: Mythbuster: clearing up a few misconceptions.

Regarding the 2005 GTO sales projections, I heard the are actually the same as the 2004 projections, but the plant will be changing over for the 2006's earlier this year... by a few months, so that is why the numbers are lower projectionwise.

As for the sales, GTO has been selling above the 18,000 annual unit mark for months now... but people continue to feel a need to put it down. It's hilarious. Other cars have rebates... no one mentions them. Other cars weren't ridiculously marked up by dealeships last year... but no on e mentions that either.

Re: Mythbuster: clearing up a few misconceptions.

I am not concerned about the GTO missing sales targets this year. It is, styling opinions aside, a very well built two door car with 6 speeds and 400 horses going to the right wheels. Anyone who was on the fence due to lack of hood scoops and true-looking duals no long have much to complain about. A nice set of wider 18"s would go a long way on the car, though.
