Mustangs' new fixed glass roof

option measures 3.1 feet by 3.8 feet, will cost $1995 and will be available on V6 and GT models in early summer 2008. The cars debut will be at NAISS in Detroit January 2008.
$2000 for a FIXED roof? Give me a large power sunroof for half that.

Sounds like something I wouldn't like, even if it was free.

Its not a targa top. It comes with a manual roller blind to block out light on sunny days. There is a pic of it in todays Detroit News.
This is the reason why the new Mustang will keep the same roofline.

I have put a lot of personal thought into something like this, and I would not want to have that, even if the price was half (which I feel is more reasonable). I don't think it would be as cool as it all sounds and for me, I think the novelty would wear off quickly.

T-tops or nothing....A gimic like a fixed glass roof isn't going to do any good. I personally don't want t-tops to let light in, I want them so that I can have an open roof over my head without having a vert.

And $2000? Thats a little up there.

I think it sounds cool. I'm not sure what a good price would be but $2000 is too much.

I actually think it looks cool and has a neat effect but for the price and then considering the safety issues I'm not sure I would opt for it.

These look cool from the outside at least. Not sure if I would like it so much on the inside though.

I remember the rumors awhile back that the Mustang would get T-tops. Is this what those rumors actually were, or is it still eventually getting T-tops?

This was originally done at Saleen (ASC). I've sat in one and it is pretty cool, but not quite the same as T's. It was about 95 with full sun that day, and it got pretty hot in there. The sun shade will come in handy. All in all, I would pay the extra money for the vert if I wanted the open roof experience.
