Super Sport hardy evokes a lame image.....WTF does ST stand for?!?

Super Tar?

Stupid Turd?

Silly Truck?

Sissy Truck?

Slow truck?

In all seriousness..is probably stands for Super Touring....

no I don't think so. First of all SS has historical reference.
Secondly---just how ST sounds is gay.

Almost all car makers share some genereic designations like,
SE, LE, GT, LX ect

S"V"T sounded cool--ST just sounds odd......to me

What I'm saying is SS, ST ....every short form sounds weird when it comes out.

ST = Special Team (I think)

You won't see this badging on a mustang IMO though.

SS sounds cool because its been associated with many amazing cars and has roots.

Come out with a few 300+ hp cars with ST badging and all of a sudden it'll be cool too.

I'm not for owning a Mustang ST but they could make it into a successful performance badge for regular cars.

JUst so you guys know...

ST is not new, it's just new here.

ST is a very established Ford performance brand in Europe.

Also, to flesh out those Futura rumors...

There is word of a Futura ST270 ( as in 270 hp), beginning to float around.

The more I find out about ST...the more it seems like it will be filling in from where SVT left off.

My SVT Contour is...in fact, a virtual mechanical clone to the Euro market Mondeo ST200.

Yup...I just don't think we'll see a Mustang ST. Mustang is just too rich in performance names to need another.

But as a Ford brand strategy, I think it'll be as successful here as it has been in Europe.

Here's an email sent to Brad's Mustang Site. No idea how reliable it is:

"hey brad...

i'm always checking your page for info on the 05 mustang. thanks for getting so much together.

anyhow...i'm already scouting dealerships and trying to dig up info on when and how i can get the new 05 GT and i was talking to a guy out a MakHaik Ford here in houston, TX. he told me that in addition to the 300hp motor for the GT, they're going to still put in the 260hp moter that is in the 04's right now. he said the 300hp was going to be an upgrade.

the 300 is the one i want...but i thought i was the norm for that car. i told him i hadn't heard anything about it, and he said they haven't published that yet.

i also got a borchure from them with info on the new stang...exterior color options...the engine info you already know...and a few other facts that are already published. got a nice pic of a GT on the fron though.

anyhow...just wanted to drop you a line. if you already know all this...sorry about the bother.

catch you later."
