If the picture above is accurate, Im not so sure that fox look-alike would be a bad thing at all.

There is supposed to be a major dealership meeting in Las Vegas next week where the new Mustang is supposed to be displayed.

I went to one here in San Diego back in '93 where the SN95 Mustang & the new Aspire was displayed. If the Mustang at the Vegas meeting is true, it may be worthwhile if someone could check it out.

Sad thing is if they can keep the price stable on the new car they will still sell 200,000+ of those ugly **** things just because "It's a Mustang"

That's been my theory of Mustang's success for the better part of 10 years now....

I like to look on the bright side here. If Ford actually produces the retro pony car, and the buying public gobble them up like candy... wouldn't you think GM would try to jump on the band wagon and produce a retro Camaro?

It could happen.

I love Retro, but I dont like any of those Mustang drawings. (NO DISRESPECT FOR THE ARTIST INTENDED!!!) Looks way too much like the original 65.

I think Retro is most successful when it takes the original and smooths it out and makes it more swoopy and streamlined.

When I was at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena this summer there were drawings by that Mark Sterinumaberger Steinbenner Sterenberger however you say it guy all over the place, some even lying on the floor! I understand he works there now in some capacity. I usually like his drawings.

IMO, retro can be done nicely, if they do it properly.. but on a fox-body? hehe, i don't htink there were any good lines on that thing. at least thats what i feel..]

The problem is that they are trying to combine retro stylings with todays aerodynamic looks.
And... its... just.......not.... working.......

Whichever rendition you think Ford is going to use, just imagine the drawing with the ride height three inches higher and a tire size two sizes smaller. Oh, and make sure the front is jacked up higher in the front than the rear.

That is Ford's sure-fire design MO for the Mustang, pretty much since it came out originally.

I like the yellow one and the blue one (HATE the red one). The blue one is a little more risky for Ford since it's so retro, but it would be a noble risk because it's more true to (1960's) Mustang heritage. I suppose some could make the case the yellow one is more true to "1990's heritage" for that matter though, and there's some logic in having that shape to appeal to a wider group of buyers. I'd consider buying either the yellow or the blue ones.

oops got my MT magazine today... when I referred to the "yellow" one in previous post I was talking about the one HuJass was speaking of in his post. When I said "red" one I meant the silly one in the new MT magazine issue. In the remote possibility of anyone caring....
