Mustang marketing

Anybody else receive a small brochure from ford about the mustang? I got it in the mail last week along with a letter that says something like "The mustang was the first and only one still remaining of it's kind" I'm not sure where they got my name and it doesn't appear to be a mass mailing. They have my name on the label and on the letter. There is also a certificate that the ford dealer is supposed to fill out when I test drive said mustang, that will get me a fifty dollar mastercard/gift card.
I'm not sure if I should forward it to GM with a thank you letter for killing the F-body. Send it to ford and tell them what I really think of their products, or just go test drive the mustang, get my fifty bucks and take a long hot shower afterwords.

My dad also recieved one of these in the mail. I would opt for getting the 50 bucks.

I believe it works by registered vehicle ownership. If you own a car that's targeted, you get these things out of nowhere.

That's how people are chosen for consumer clinics for car designs. Seems Ford is very serious about pulling disgruntled Camaro owners.

Go for it...Sometimes I go to dealerships just for a test drive. They always seem annoyed when I "decide not to buy". I drove a 2001 GT not long ago. One thing is for certain, it will give you renewed respect for your "outdated car."

I always drive off feeling better that I went with the car I have now.

Maybe what I should do is send the flyer in to GM (less the $50 certificate) and ask them if I should go ahead and buy a Mustang, or wait a year or two for something better to be re-introduced.

Though I doubt they'd respond... It's be quite interesting if they actually did.

You might help them see that Ford actually promotes the Mustang, and tries to get people into their dealerships just to drive that particular car!

It would be cool if GM received a couple thousand of these in the mail with a see what you've done to your loyal ex-Camaro customers? Sorry, the GTO just won't cut it.

$50 bucks is $50 bucks. I say go test drive the car. If you can pick the car, I'd say find a dealer with a Rousch car or perhaps a Saleen and give it a whirl. Regardless of what model Mustang you drive, if it meets/exceeds your expectations and you would consider purchasing one of these cars then I would write a letter to GM to let them know. Perhaps what would be better would be to send it direct to Scott Settlemiere. I think GM needs to know that there are enthusiests out there who want something besides a truck and that right now the Blue Oval is the only company who seems to be filling that requirement (V8 RWD).

I suppose you're forced to spend that $50 on Ford merchandise? If not, what "gifts" can this gift card actually buy? I'd probably try to sell it on ebay for under face value. Better to have $25 cash than $50 worth of Ford stuffed bears and keychains..

Very nice by Ford.....

Seems like it will be the only afordable RWD V8 and it looks good
lately there isn't any Camaro news or nothing that indicates that a new Camaro will come by 2005-2006....2007 will be too late with the mustang arriving in 2004

GM lost a customer here and I don't buy that brand loyal thing

It said a mastercard gift card not a gift certificate. I've gotten a mastercard gift card before you use like a credit card at anyplace that takes credit cards so its just like getting 50 dollers in cash.
