Mustang GT-350 rumors.

There are lots of rumors coming from the Mustang sites, and the Detroit and Chicago shows.

Rumors are that a Mustang GT-350 will be the next Special Edition Mustang.

And it really sounds like a Mustang "Z/28".

The buzz is....

Lots of power, IRS, content limited, road race suspension, light weight....YIKES! I love it... if true.

Here's what an original GT-350 looks like in it's natural element:

Any of you rumor mongers have anything to add?

I haven't heard that one, but with the emphasis being on limited editions I can see it coming.

Man.........they're really pumping them out.........

Bring on the GT 350 - or for that matter 500!
It only means that the 5th gen will have to raise the bar that much higher.

The current skinny on the GT-500 is....

If SVT drops the Cobra name from Mustang, and just uses that name on the Shelby 2 seater, then what would have been the '06 SVT Cobra, will become the '06 SVT Mustang GT-500.

if they must bring back the shelby,it would have to be the GT350.the entire mustang performance image practically rests on the '65 shelby's shoulders.race-winner,corvette killer, alot to live up to.if it were me,it would be like the last cobra R,two seats, big engine with side exhaust,IRS,manual tranny only,no BS like air, radio, sound deadening wussy stuff.make it mean!!!oh,and just like a '65,any color you want as long as its white......okay..maybe gold stripes on black like the '66...

Only make the black and gold one available from Hertz.....so you can rent a car for your big race weekend.

you think they'd care if ya brought it back with a busted clutch and bald tires?besides, the usual shelby rent-a-racer stories,i heard some clever guys in '66 would rent a shelby, pull the engine, drop it in their mustang,go racing, come back and put everything back, take the car back and probably hear.."wow,you only drove it 3 miles!"hertz is crazy, first they rent out race cars and then they hire OJ...oops.

Actually.....

it will mean that MUSTANG would have raised the bar higher.

(Mustang's the one that's setting the standards and it's Camaro that's going to be playing catch up...... just a friendly reality check. )

As a matter of fact, after the first few months, the GT350H ("H" for Hertz), only were available with auto. It seems alot of the early 4 speed cars would come back with engine damage. Some of those also had suspicious weld marks on the floor, where a roll bar might go!

Nothing quite compares to beating on a fast rental!
