Yes. I could easily see that getting swept under the rug!

That's gonna cause a few issues with the fender badges that read:

"Z06
505 HP"

Re: MT Z06 Quarter Mile Time...

I can see it now........

Dear Valued GM customer,

We regret to inform you that there is a recall on all new 2006 Corvette ZO6's. It seems the fender badges that are on the side of the car that represents the model along with its "advertised" horsepower are incorrect. In fact the motor does not make 505 horsepower. We will be replacing these faulty incorrect badges with more accurate ones that read 550hp. Please excuse our mistake and thank you for becoming a member of the GM family.

If I had one and they did that, I think I might frame that letter.

The tooling for the badges could be replaced in 4 weeks with ease... faster if they wanted. I've seen EDM sunk injection molds done and shooting parts in a week as long as they are relatively simple, and this one looks like cake to me - no sliders.
I was at the factory last Friday, I saw 4 Z06s on the production line and at least 5 others in post assembly area and outside the plant. The badges do say 505hp but the plant rep said that these cars were test cars and not production Z06s

i'll be there too . hopefullly there will be a few this year at the GMHTP event. i'd love to see the Z06 eat up the road course at E-town

Yeah, if only they could get done with the roadcourse already. I'll have to check the schedule for the GMHTP event, but I'm sure it'll be pretty good. It is GM........the best cars on the planet!

Something that I just remembered the factory rep said the Z06 did 0-100-0 in 15 seconds

Re: MT Z06 Quarter Mile Time...

If it runs quicker than 11.49 doesn't it have to have a roll cage??

don't worry, those ppl suffer from "airportitis" it's a rare condition where you feel compelled to move to a house right next to an airport than complain about all the ***damn noise. the course will be done soon. trust me. either way, it's gonna be interesting to see what a stock Z06 will do with maybe just a set of BFG drag radials. i don't think it's to crazy to say we might see 10s with a few simple tweaks and bolt-ons and a set of drag radials.
