I can't make out a rear differential in the under carriage shot. Can anybody else see it?

I hate how everyone is putting mufflers at the end of the exhaust system, like the 05 Mustang, whats up with that? People gave up on fitting them under the car?

It's hard to tell much, they have a textured cover under the top cover, but the under side looks decent!..

GTO doesn't...but for ground clearance it works best, like the Vette. It DOESN'T give you as DEEP of an exhaust note as the GTO has either. There are some good SLIM aftermarket mufflers that would fit under the chassis in about the same space as a pipe, they just probably won't pay the few extra dollars for them tho.

Its just a quick/easy way to do it. I hope the new Camaros have them in front of the axle for people like me who require true duals dumped at the axle...

I don't mind the mufflers just so long as any car doesn't have the rear fascia "bumps" like the new Stang. It just makes it look so out of place to me

2004 GTO doesn't but AFAIK, the 2005 on does have the mufflers at the very rear.

Re: More shots of '07 Commodore....including undercarriage!

Mufflers are moving to the rear of the car because the fuel tank is moving to the place where mufflers used to be (under the back seat). That's bacause of the new rear impact standards (the same ones that moved the Monaro's fuel tank to the trunk between the rear wheels for the US spec GTO).

Undercar pics and ... OMG...I can't believe you car guys are discussing 'mufflers'!

It looks like a double wishbone rear setup there, to me? Somebody please confirm as the undercar pic is a little less detailed than I would like.

What's the big deal about this car again? These pics are really not doing anything for me...

Thats what I was saying. Wasn't there a little bit of a stir about this chasis a few months ago? Now we get pictures of the underside of a car and no one cares about anything but where they put the mufflers?
