also, i wish all the best of luck to Kris and Chris. BUT, considering what we've seen from Kris H. so far, I'm not convinced he's the right man for the job of designing a Camaro. not flaming at all. it's obvious he has tallent. i just personally don't like his style of, well style. but maybe i'm in the minority on that.
Your not the only one. I didnt like his charger design and with the exception of his 69 retro camaro concept i didnt like really that much. All i have to say is make it look right, look distinctive and not a gto rehash. Strong body lines, with an agressive yet modern facia and that car will sell like hot cakes.

Woah Woah. Neither were hired. GM interviewed Mr. Horton not too long ago. I'm just saying GM would be stupid to not consider these two for a position in design.

They have NOT been hired by GM.

From everything I have heard from insiders on this board, a design does not even have to sit on a specific platform to be pretty much "finalized"...as long as the "hardpoints" are done. The new Camaro design may be tweaked here and there depending on the chassis or if something just doesn't "look right" but there's no way GM would completely scrap a design we know has already gone through clinics and gotten approval.

Pretty much.. IIRC, when the Solstice debuted it wasn't even on the Kappa platform it is now.. or something like that

Funny, I read the story as a suggestion that GM should hire someone like Kris H. or Chris P., a not that they actually did.

I don't like this short overhang crap. Why do American car companies think they need to make their sports cars have no overhangs like trucks and SUVs? The current Italian sports cars and even most of the British ones retain substancial overhangs. I don't like any of the popular 5th gen designs...

This article is just all speculation when it comes to the Camaro, made by the author. He seems pretty convinced though.. IOW, not really news.

Re: More Camaro News ( very very good news )

Its sounding more and more like what someone told me back in 2002 when the 4th generation just ended production. "It will probably will be the end of the decade, or begining of the next before we see a new Camaro". I found it hard to believe back then, and now I thought lots of things have changed since then, but apparnetly not.

I mean, we've gone from one chassis to another and back to the first one in the last 12 months...
No we haven't. Everything you've heard in the last 12 months regarding chassis changes has been pure speculation. There's only one structure that "might" be Camaro. All the rest is a guess that took on a life of it's own.

I believe you are right on all counts.

Actually, I remember someone indicating to me early on that Camaro might very well be back in time to celebrate it's 40th. If it's still destined to happen, it's likely only going to miss by 1 year. Again, I said "if".

IMHO, if it becomes apparent you don't see a Camaro or a replacement till next decade, you'd better sell your GM stocks NOW, because I would think they would be in horrendous financial shape to cancel plugging a product hole like that, given the feedback from various dealers and public input.
