I confirmed 500 ponies for quite sometime. Actually since early this year on C&G. As far as the rest, that i'm unsure of. I really find it hard to believe a 2nd Z06 especially with Blue Devil coming later. Too much overlap.

 

what about the uses of carbon fiber that we saw on the special edition vette?

 

I heard that on digitalcorvettes, which is Corvette Conti's home. He has proved to have very reputable sources in the past. If the rumors of an aluminum frame and 500hp is true, will this car be able to get the attention of the Ford GT for the cost of a house less? I think that it will.

 

maybe the 'blue devil' (it burns me to actually say that) and the 2nd Z06 are one and the same???

i knew about the 500 HP, but NOT the SMG...i've always wanted to try one of those

 

Wasn't the Blue Devil project shelved indefinitely?
I could have sworn that I read that somewhere (reputable source) because GM couldn't swing the justification for such a project.

 

Hmmm, sounds like that SMG transmission is the one I read about a while back. That was the GM A6, that is coming soon, with a dry clutch and tweaked a little.

 

Good deal! I always thought the aluminum chassis would be too expensive for the Z06, and it would be for a higher performance or even the XLR-V.
I think an aluminum chassis will deffinatly make this car sub 3k lbs.
I think we all know about the 500hp by now. Even Lutz let the cat out of the bag.

 

It seems like the guy has his information crossed. Aluminum chassis is set for Blue Devil, and it's more than 550hp.

I'll only say that Chevrolet needs Blue Devil to stay on "top" of the HP wars within their divisions. Lots of big things coming out very soon.

 

Dang. If I am reading this right, that means that the regular Z06's 500 horsepower will be overshadowed by something from GM outside of Chevrolet?!?


I guess we can expect some seriously high hp Cadillac V-series cars (ie. STS-V, XLR-V, and/or a bumped up CTS-V) and maybe a super-stud GTO?
