This may be nothing, it may be everything...

I was thinking about a 5th Gen concept I saw on here earlier this year, and was searching through the threads to find it...and I sort of found it...
Heres a link to the thread...
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...5&pagenumber=3

It says
Sorry guys, had to take the images off the internet. Hopefully, you will all know why eventually.
What could that POSSIBLEY mean?

The pic is no longer up there...Heres a thread w/ a few pics of it up...

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...5&pagenumber=1

To me (and I love speculation) this COULD mean that the Camaro team has bought the rights to this concept, and may use part of it in their conceptoulization of the 5th gen Camaro...

...and heres a link to his albums w/ some more concepts he's made...

The story at the time was that those images were purchased by a magazine.

But then again...that was 6 months ago and most mags have a lead time of 2-3 months.

So I wonder also... who has them?

Danno02SS, how does that compare to the car you saw?

Nope, not it. I actually love that blue one, but that wasn't it. There was a hand-drawn concept floating around here that had the exact front end as the concept I saw. I remmember thinking, hey that's that dude's concept!!!

All the 1st Gen retro concepts are getting stupid already.

Oh that would be lovely...

While I'm in the mood for looking for threads...Branden posted this a few days ago in that "Even if GM wanted to, could they bring back the Camaro" thread...

A 5th Gen Camaro is pretty close...one approval away really. I hope to have a pretty big update in September
Maybe he's heard something or has been tipped off from someone that there will be news in the coming months? And as GuionM said...

The styling clinic is one of the last stops before a product is presented for approval. Input from a clinic is either incorperated into a redesign, or if it's good enough, it becomes part of the presentation when the car goes up for final approval. Once approved, it should take about 18 months to hit the streets.
This all seems to be coming together lately...looks like we're in for a treat this winter

That's not it either but the front end is pretty close. The grill was thinner and pointier, almost arrow like. It was not a billet type grille but more of a louvre design (ala Cadillac) in solid black. The hood lines on this car are similar too. If you squash the Cowl and extend the creases to the front of the hood you get the hood of what I saw. The fenders were slightly more flared (upwards) but maintained the creases.

It was like the first one (the angles are right on) except the grill extended to the headlights and instead of two big headlights, there were two smaller covered ones on each side (ala Lexus SC300 I think it is). The tapering of the grill and head lights continued uniterrupted to the quarter panels. The headlights wrapped around only slightly like in the second drawing. The hood creases were also like the second drawing except without the middle crease.

The grille was like this Blue guy except it extended to the headlights and tapered a little more aggressively. The headlights look very similar only smaller. The botton half was entirely different, it wasn't as angular.

I am extremely tough when it comes to this stuff as some of you might already know, but that is 1 of the better 5th Gen concepts I've seen. Its progressive, not retro and has Third and 2nd Gen cues without looking too much like either. It's new mixed with cues the way it should be. Not saying I'd like to see that exact car be the next Camaro, (it is only the front and the side views I wasn't that crazy about) but it's definetly some kind of start, GM.

The concept you're thinking of was originally posted on a chevelle board I think....or maybe the guys name was chevelle-something.

It was one of my favorites when it came out. It wasn't really like any of the pictures posted above though. Although I'm more inclined to believe the story that they were bought by a magazine, it's funny we haven't seen them in any mags yet. Maybe they decided not to use them?
