The Maxx's rear leg room, and reclining back seat was awesome! I do hope those features somehow carry over to the future models.

Thats the thing I noticed most about the Maxx. A long trip in the backseat of the Maxx would be a breeze. Lots of leg room, reclining seats, and a flip-up screen DVD system. Grab some sodas, snacks, and a couple DVDs and all of a sudden that long trip isnt so bad anymore. (minivans do this too as do some SUV's but SUV's drink more gas and not everyone likes minivans, including me!)

And being that story is from Edmunds, Im taking it with a grain of salt. Their track record isnt the greatest so to speak.

Me too! This car seems to fit in with the others out there! I actually think the Malibu SS & the Maxx SS are pretty nice looking too! They had a SSmokin' hot orange one at Carlisle last time I went! It was loaded with Carbon Fibre(I'm a sucker for CF ) inside, under the hood! Its probably there right now ..., along with alot of other Killer GM stuff... Damn! Damn!!! I know, I know, but its a 4 cyl. named Malibu, Maxx with SS on it! Flame me if you will, but I still think it fits right into the current trend of cars. Obviously not what some of us might like, but a far cry from the lemans & nova's we've seen! . Oh, and by the way, I have a 71 Malibu myself to fool around with so! Ya know what my friends say... even some GM guys? It's only a Malibu... its not a Chevelle! Close enuff fer me! Too bad though, about the Maxx!
