I'm worried bout cost :-/ if it tops 55k, its not a vette anymore in my eyes

as my uncle (GM projects manager) said "the mustang comes and goes but the corvette has always been great"

I predicted a 04 GTO LAST JULY....I think this is pretty good info...however now that it is leaked some things can change.

Anyone notice the part about the camless small block?

I won't wanna be in C6 meetings the next few weeks

Yeah, c'mon GM, the C6 sounds great...but do the right thing, please

The high performance version of the C6 (possibly still named Z06) will be powered by a new generation of cam-less engine. That’s right, electronically actuated valves. Not only will this give the HP version of the C6 infinite valve timing, but close-to, if not north-of 500hp.
That sounds more technologically advanced than even *gasp* VTEC!!! With something like that, I wonder how reliable it is, though? Overall, I like the way the C6 sounds

Interesting, but I'll believe it when I see it. Most of the technology is there, but I think they'll need something heftier than the standard 12 V systems, and I'm not sure that GM will be ready to go the 42 V route by the time the C6 launches. If so, more power to them - electronic valve actuation kicks major butt!

Hooray if all that is true !!!!

Now maybe all the people that are worried about the GTO getting 400hp and incringing on vette performance can relax cause the C6 will be a viper killer. and the Judge can go after the cobra. lets hope so anyway.

For those questioning the camless engine..

Circular Piston Aircraft Engines have been using electronic valves for YEARS...

Its just a matter of time until it made it into cars..

Awesome, I thought the displacement on demand thing was just more non-sense to clutter the engine.

GMHTP had a good article about the cam-less engines a few issues back. Maybe I'll re-read it in light of this

Hmmmm...I guess this means that you'll be able to change valve lift and duration with just a reprogram, instead of a cam change, eh?

Sounds good.
