I'm betting by 2008-09 a V6 will be offered in the Solstice, and possibly a V8. You watch and see.

V6...possibly, although OHC V6's can be just as large and heavy as LSx V8s, and the power gains over a turbo'd 4 are minimal. Unfortunately I think the Kappa cars would be "Fieroed" before a V8 of any heft was dropped in them from the factory. Gotta watch out for those Corvette boys after all....

Thats a pontiac though. XLR-V pretty showed that Corvette rule doesen't apply to GM as a whole. With the Corvette allegedly getting a bump in power I don't see the problem.

They will never offer a factory LS7 though, V8 is pushing it. For the cars personality i think turbo 4 or 6 is better anyway.

I didn't think the stingray was a bad idea, although a bad name, I would rather see them rotate the cars around brands and give them distinct personalities then exhaust every possible combination with saturn and pontiac.

Re: LS7 Solstice

Its a cool idea, but I would still rather have a z06. I still think the z06 would be the better car.

Re: LS7 Solstice

hmm. offer it with the 5.3 at 30, or the 6.0 (or 6.2) a little higher.

Re: LS7 Solstice

that would probably heavily take sales away from corvette. being lighter, cheaper, and quicker and all.

Throw a v8 in a Solstice, and you have thrown away most of it's weight advantage right there. The Solstice is only a few hundred pounds lighter than the Vette with its stock 4 banger in there. The extra weight of the v8 on the nose of the Solstice is going give the Vette a pretty solid advantage in weight distribution as well.

Mallet is selling their LS2 Solstices for a few thousand less than a base c6. I would rather have the c6.

Just over 400lbs fully dressed. My question to you is how much do you think it weighs? The LS engines are by no means that heavy, but they aren't the lightest engines on the planet either, despite what some people may believe.

I still stand by what I said.

Re: LS7 Solstice

I think I would take one with a 5.3 V8...that would be one helluva ride!

Now, if I could get a nomad with the 5.3...even if it had to be a two seat wagon, I would still buy it, even over a Camaro.
