They pulled stuff out to save weight too?

Seems like you would need to have a truck follow you around with extra sets of tires.

Re: LS7 Solstice

I'd buy it if it was kept reasonably priced.

I'd say reasonably priced would, if it was OEM produced = no more than 40k. Preferably less, like say 36k. Doesn't have to be loaded to the hilt - just made to perform.

Anymore than that and you can just about buy a Vette. Albeit only LS2, but I'd rather have a 400hp LS2 Vette than a 500hp LS7 Solstice if they were both about the same price.

Yes, there are a few things that had to be fabricated but the vast majority are parts bin.

I bet you that they won't mention in their write up that a company has already done that, and is selling them.

Mallet? I think only LS2 Mallets are available and at a much more premium price than most would consider them worth when the LS2 Vette is on the market. I personally think this writeup was more to see the viability of a factory-produced LS7 Solstice using GM OEM parts.

How would you keep this car from spontaneously bursting into flames or going back in time?

Re: LS7 Solstice

what do you think our chances are of having a gm built v8 solstice? after the turbo model is out, i'd guess extremely slim. just out of curiosity though...

maybe in a few years i'll say screw the camaro and buy a high mileage used solstice and send it to mallet.
