LS7 in next Camaro Z28?
Re: LS7 in next Camaro Z28?
Possible. It would be easier to package then the GT motor in the Mustang. But I dont think that we will see it. If anything, the 6.2 V8 making 450hp would be the best at taking on any type of fierce fight from a SVT model.
I still dont think that Ford will put a 500hp engine in the Mustang.

Re: LS7 in next Camaro Z28?
I say it's possible. By the time a new, "real" Z28 is out again, which is rumored to come at least a year after the car returns, it won't be such a new engine anymore and the Z cars should be special above the others. Just think, it'd only have about 100HP more than the original Z28's (but not the TQ!) and will by default be slower because of weight and setup when compared to the Corvette obviously.
Re: LS7 in next Camaro Z28?
Only way I can see the LS7 making it into the Camaro is if the Camaro is produced at an amount where special editions are made. Lets say GM allows the Camaro to have 2 V8s. Or to separate models even more maybe even 3 but that isn't going to happen. I forsee the Camaro having the 5.3 LS4 as an Engine option. Also I see the 6.0 being used in a top model but it could also be detuned for a SS model. Right now i see V6 model getting the 3.9v6 RS or base SS model getting the 5.3 V8 LS4 with DoD. Offering V8 power but still having decent fuel economy. The 6.0 V8 could be detuned a bit and be offered in the high end SS say as option that came along with a few other things. But then there would be the high end Z28 sporting possibly a 420hp 6.0 LS2 But if GM was able to offer more than 2 V8's in a regular production run maybe the 6.2 (6.3-6.4) whatever LS3 comes over to the Z28 giving it Cobra competition. But then there could be room for low numbers special tribute special edition models like lets say a yenko or a Penske/Sunoco Z28 or a ZL1 packin the 427 LS7. Well if they detuned the SS 6.0 to lets say 385 or 390 or so it would leave room for a 420 or a 430 hp 6.0 V8 pretty much leavin the 6.2 to sit in truck engine bays. The LS7 if used in any other Chevy than a Vette would probally be a special edition very low production model. This is all my opinion on the matter though.
But like some are saying ,maybe that 6.2 could be a top end motor for a Chevelle but who knows. I'm so confused over the Camaro coming back and what role it will have that I dunno what to think. At first I thought it was returning to be a Mustang fighter but some have now said that the Zeta Chevelle might be the high volume coupe and that the Camaro wouldn't have a very large production run possibly leaving less room for more models of the Camaro. And like let say having a 1/3 or 1/2 of the Mustangs production. I'd rather not see this but maybe things will change also all this talk about the Beta chassis shared with Torana (sp?). If the Coupe market exploded again I'd love to see the F-Body's yes the Firebird too return on this Beta Chassis and use the GTO as their high end model basically their halo car. Or they could take the Firebird and make it into a 2 seater Vette type car. But I just hope by the time the Camaro's anniversary is around that the name i reborn in a affordable 2+2 V8 Coupe offered in Lemans Blue Metallic and that the insurance rates for males under 25 that have clean records could afford to have a Camaro as a daily driver

Re: LS7 in next Camaro Z28?
You'll see about as many as you do LS-6 powered 4th Gens. The only way a Camaro is going to get that engine is if a tuner co. like GMMG does it, or you do it yourself. But you can bet money that GM will never do it.

Of course we would have to have a 5th gen camaro first.
