LS7=7.0l...Proof?

Maybe these pics of the Speed GT series CTSv will help...

Link to pics on LS1Tech.com

Recall the intake on the Woodward GTO concept? Looks awful familiar, eh?

I thought it was pretty well confirmed that it would be a 7.0 which would also be further bolstered by the pictures of the "7.0" on the block.

New Car and Driver says 2006 concept GTO has a LS7 motor from the up and coming 2006 Z06 and it stated it was 6.3L
i doubt they would jump up one liter from the C6 to the Z06
6.0 to 7.0

6.0 to 7.0
Car and Driver has some witty writers (or at least they used to; John Phillips cracked me up - dunno if he's still there). BUT, they are not always right.

Getting a bit off topic... I don't think he writes for them anymore... I subscribe and haven't read an article of his in the last two or three issues. But C&D is still the best all-around non-specialist gear-head rag... even if Brock Yates (with his crusty old 'us Republicans' vs 'you tree huggers' viewpoint, which he's entitled too - just wish he wouldn't shove it in my face nearly every issue - I've never hugged a tree in my life FWIW) gets on my **** at times. I like Patrick Bedard, he seems to have a rational, balanced and unbaised viewpoint... generally speaking his articles try to cut through the bull and he also acknowledges and doesn't sneer at efforts to create cleaner more efficient vehicles... without being an way-out, unrealistic extremist who thinks we should all ditch our cars right now and ride segways.

Re: LS7=7.7l...Proof?

I guess the 7.7 L posted in the topic is a mistype, we're talking about 7.0 L.

Fromthe information gathered from various sourced, it appears that Z06 motor will indeed be 7.0 L.

It says it has an LS7 block, NOT the LS7

Welp, methinks that set of pictures just took the 500hp Z06 from being "vaporware" into being "pretty damned sure the Viper's getting an ***-kicking come January".

Re: LS7=7.7l...Proof?

That is intresting. cause I read the CTS-vr was using a destroked C5R block, which I don't think have that 7.0L mark on them...

Re: LS7=7.7l...Proof?

Preliminary RPO lists over a year ago showed the LS7 as 6.4L.
But from what I've read, GM wanted more power out of it, hence the move up to 7.0L.
