Looks like a production Aveo RS?

Chris Doane asked me to remove the pics, so here's the link...

Still looks like a dorky roller skate to me.

Then again, this whole class of ridiculously small kiddie cars does, so I guess that's par for the course.

This car is larger than you think, Darth. It's more Cobalt sized than Aveo.

Why do they camo up a car we've already seen full unveiled?
I mean it's one thing if you're trying to hide it I get that, but we've all already seen it?

I thought so at first glance too, but looking harder at the spy photos (and going back/forth between the concept and them) I see most of those lines still in it. They look to be a little toned down, but it's hard to tell for sure.

The fog light area has lost some edginess...the mirrors have been rounded and in my opinion that is changing the look quite a bit.

Now don't get me wrong I know that the camo, color and the highly stylized photo of the RS concept are making a huge difference but I just don't like it as much with it not being as low, without the wheels being like the RS, and with the much smaller "rolled" fenders.

I'll reserve judgement until I see 1 in person but there is just no way they could've made it as cool looking as the RS concept, which is the reason I think they should stop showing conceptualized versions of productions cars before they introduce the production model it gets everyone's expectations up and then they're let down when they see the production model.

Stuuu-pid. You don't "tone down" the lines on something you've already shown, and is clearly production-ready. Especially when you're going up against distinctively-styled cars like the Fiesta. That's 100% old GM idiocy, right there.

I swear, for all the better things happening at GM, stuff like this makes me wonder if there's anyone awake at the wheel.

Still hard to really visualize it fully due to the camo, but so far I'm underwhelmed...

Is that the regular Aveo? Fender flares look smaller and so do the wheels. Hard to tell on that car though. The front is also a little different.

Good question. I forgot the RS is supposed to be top-of-the-line.

Chevrolet is targeting a more upscale market for the replacement Aveo since it hopes the Spark will take over for its entry-level models. Unlike the current Chevrolet small car lineup, which consists only of the Aveo and Cobalt, by the end of 2011, Chevrolet will offer the entry-level Spark hatchback, an Aveo in both five-door and four-door sedan configurations and the conventional four-door Cruze.
Hasn't GM learned by now? So I'm guessing a loaded Aveo is going to be priced closer to $20k than $10k.

[soapbox]
Again I say... WAKE UP GM! Build a cheap but sporty entry level two-door hatchback (3-door?) with an optional turbo Ecotec, or you're not going win over the youth market.

The body actually looks decent . I knew they would cheap out on the projector headlights and hockey stick fog lamps though ....skipping the details like that are what takes an aggressive cool looking front end and makes it look generic and cheap . It changes the entire personality of the front clip

Follows the trend.......a highly optioned Fiesta is 20k as well. They want to portray the image that small cars dont have to mean cheap cars.
