Trans problem has been handled by the aftermarket . The quickest 3.8 GTP coupe is in the 9's Guy

Actually, 13.8-13.9 are the norms for GXP's. I dont know how magazines got 14.3 in the 1/4th, but most of the owners are able to pull 13.8-13.9 and their are a couple that have went 13.6's-13.7's.
So i would say the GXP and 04 GTO are pretty even in the 1/4th.

Also, DOD only works at cruising speeds when the engine isnt under load. So if your at cruising speeds with ur foot in and out of the throttle..your not going to see the MPG increase.

If thats the case, then lets use real GTOs, not 'common' times: http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14617

Note that the top 10 bone stock 04 ETs range from 13.1 to 13.3

Mine ran the sig times with just high flow cats and a MAF pipe, on my first trip to the track EVER in a stick shift car on stock all season tires. Give me some real performance tires from the factory like the GXP tires and 12s are in reach with this kind of mph.

RWD and 50 hp make for a few ticks faster than a GXP no matter how you slice it. And if we want to go faster, we don't have a FWD handicap.
