Lincoln =

While this truck may be slightly more practical than the Blackwood, thus slightly more successful, I'd much rather see a Lincoln roadster or a replacement for the ancient, stodgy Town Car. The luxury pickup is still a concept that just doesn't make sense.

I think a Town car replacement sould be priority #1 then maybe a Small RWD car (BMW 1 series) and a SRX type cross over. I wonder if the truck will still be called Blackwood? probably not.

Screw trucks. We've got plenty as is. None really wants to spend $40-50k on a F-150 crew-cab clone with a better interior.

They need to concentrate their resources on making CARS and on updating the whole lineup. Other than the Ls (which is now 5 years old??) their cars come off as very boring and out of date. Get with the times Lincon. Revamp the cars and worry about the trucks later. Why revive something that's already dead???

Big Bucks to be made on trucks - luxury, or otherwise.

The real question in my mind is how the hell can all these people afford these things ?

Navigators, Escalades, Denalis, H2's , blah blah blah.

I am obviously doing something terribly, terribly wrong .

Of course, if incredibly rich, I'd probbaly be playing w/ the Ford dealer for one of their new GT's.

Escalade EXT sales, the Blackwood didn't. Lincoln should not have limited the Blackwood to 2WD only, and offered more colors for it. This is why manufactorers release different variations of a certain model after its introduction.

I agree with you.The price of the Blackwood was its killing blow. Not just because it was 2WD.They (like you said) should have offered 4WD as well.

I think one of the biggest drawbacks was its almost useless carpeted bed with power cover. It was more like a big trunk.

If you wanted a 2WD 4 door truck, the HD F-150 was a much better deal, it came with a lightning engine for less money.

Maybe since the Harley/Ford deal was only for 5 years this new Lincoln will fill in that gap and basically be the new HD F150

Im with you on the first 2 Lesson for the day-The HD came with the standard 5.4 when it was a extended cab.2001 HD's were the same. Not only til 2002 did the HD come with the L's engine.

The 3rd-Ford already has plans on on the board for a 2006 HD..Its just a matter of time. These trucks are a BIG hit.(well the S/C'ed versions )

originally it was a five year deal with Ford to build the HD trucks, why is there not going to be an '05 if they renewed the contract?

Wow.

There's less differentiation between the F150 and that than there is between a Silverado and a Sierra!

Grille and.... hood ornament... and it's a Lincoln.
