Last Oldsmobile ever to be built this week.
RIP OLDS..NOT!!!!
I hate to be the bearer of some sad news
, but the last Olds rolled off the line at 10 AM this morning
BIG MISTAKE GM!!!
I grew up riding in 2 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Station Wagons- the first a 1971 Jade Green CC purchase at the late, great Kurland Olds/Cadillac in Nyack, New York in june of 1971, which was trade for a Chestnut Brown CC in June of 1973 at King Oldsmobile in Ossining, New York. I had fond memories of those cars.

Actually the Olds lineup was strong and had lots of money poured into keeping it going.
The buying public didn't respond. Look in your driveway and if there's no Olds you might understand why it went away.

Personally, I really like it, nice car, though some of the plastic feels a little "lightweight", not really sure how to describe it other than that. For example, the shifter doesn't feel as solid as the shifter in my old ecplise. I definatly don't like the variable assist steering though, feels disconnected or too heavy.
Personally I wish Buick and/or saturn would have been killed first. BTW (IIRC) did you know that the year this was announced, Olds sold over 100k units, but GM killed them, while buying Sabb, who only sold about 35k units that same year.
Sad to see em go. My dad occasionally drives one of the Intrigue company cars from hsi work when his Tahoe's in the shop. I LOVE driving that thing. **** has almost 200k on it and the 'baby northstar' as we call it still is fast enough to pound on my buddies '02 Grand Prix GT and whatnot. that car rocked.
