Last Oldsmobile ever to be built this week.
It's still rather sad.... and I still think Olds had more style and direction than Buick, even if Buick was outselling Olds at the time...

Its too bad, Gm lost touch with oldsmobile's roots and just kept it as the back draft economy car version for the middle aged crowd, wrather then produce anything sporty its all been bland and wrather blah, nothing remotely attractive other then the alero. Plus what did they have a 3 car line up, alero, bravada, and cutlass? I would wrather see saturn go
Olds had the best car line at GM when they pulled the plug. The Intrigue was the best overall W-body with its classy interior and 3.5 DOHC engine, the Alero was what the Grand Am could have been without its tacky cladding and hideous dash (proof of the car's popularity is how its still a popular fleet car and "pimped out" Aleros are all over the place around here), and even Lutz himself said the Aurora had GM's best interior (not that that's saying a lot, but still)....
If they made a 2 door Intrigue, I'd own an Intrigue instead. Now, my girlfriend will continue to buy late model low-mileage Olds' for as long as we can get our hands on them...they're cheap, and better than any other comparable GM car made...
I miss Olds...a lot....

The buying public didn't respond. Look in your driveway and if there's no Olds you might understand why it went away.
Good vehicles that didn't sell. Tons of advertising dollars... anyone here buy one?

Actually the Olds lineup was strong and had lots of money poured into keeping it going.

she had one new back in the 80's cut supreme and bought an 2000 cutlass, my father owned a 442 back in 84. So i would say my family kept the olds fever going...atleast for a whileAlso the only reason why buick was doing better was because of newer designs, and tiger woods. What did olds sponcer? Nothing, it got no PR nothing. Heck i havent seen an olds ad in as long as i can remember, now all i see is pontiac this and Chevy revolution that, as well as the occasional caddy ad. Nothing for olds in a while. It had one of those camaroish deaths, no pr, no r&d just let it die kinda attitude
