LaCrosse Super.

I'll start off with this quote from "Dutch" on C&G from afew months ago:

A family member who owns a Buick dealership was at the GM preview in Vegas on Monday. He confirmed , based upon what he saw that:

1) The La Crosse Super is a go - larger wheels, bigger engine and a Velite grill and headlamp treatment. He said the new front changes the entire profile of the car.
2) The Lambda crossover will be a 2007 model, come out in 2006 and be shown at both Chicago and Detroit auto shows. He said it's gorgeous. Looks very close to the Centiemme concept with a more angular Velite style grill. Said it seats 8 and looks more distinctive than GMC's version, the Acadia.

He said he's never come away from a GM car preview more optismistic about the future for the company.
Today on GMI someone posted this:

This morning I was driving by the GM tech center and saw a LaCrosse. It had ground effects, doule exhaust and a slightly different grille.
I don't know, but could buick be sticking the 5.3 in it? It would be oversaturation, but if it sells DO IT!
Is it possible that a restyled LaCrosse Super...with a front end similar to the Velite's, 5.3L V8, and stylish 18" wheels....might be more exciting than an Impala SS?

Re: LaCrosse Super.

I love the Impy SS, but it isn't hard to be more visually exciting. Give the Impy a gfx kit like the MC SS, better wheels and a larger spoiler, and NOW we're talking.

Dodge makes no apologies for the racy look of cars like the Charger R/T and Daytona...why should Chevy? The SS is a great performance value, but it needs to LOOK the part, too...

Re: LaCrosse Super.

I'd sure as heck take that Buick Lacrosse Super over an Impy SS any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Will Buick have a theme similar to the Caddy's "V" series across the board?

I posted a picture of the front on C&G. It's around there somewhere.

There it is.

I still say that is a Lucerne front end.

Every line you can see is exactly like Lucerne.... I think this is a "future uplevel Lucerne" front shot... not a LaCrosse.

Re: LaCrosse Super.

I think this could be a great car. I love the look of the Lucerne and my biggest gripe about the LaCrosse was the grill so this sounds good to me. The V8 would definatly be nice. I suspect the Buick will get more of a "cruiser" feel to it compared to the Impala but should be cool none the less.

On a side note, I like how GM is starting to put V8's in just about anything and everything where it will fit.

Re: LaCrosse Super.

It was marked as the refresh for the LaCrosse. It is the front end for the LaCrosse Super which will then be used on the '07 (or was it '08) LaCrosse refresh.

It's been verified by a few different people.

Yes, but they could easily be lower inserts, not unlike the C5 Z06 vs the standard C5 front end.

To me, this just looks like a grille and lower valance treatment for the current Lucerne front end.

Time will tell, I suppose......

Trying to change my opinion of Buick, or something?
