The LA Auto Show, part 1.

Media days January 5th & 6th
Sneak Preview Night: January 6, 6-10:30 pm ($100...includes no host bar )
General Public, January 7-16 ($10 per person...no bar)

Corvette Z06 unveiling here January 11.

Still too early to know exactly what's going to be here. Generally, anything that debuted at Detroit last year, and wasn't seen in LA will be here, as will most everything from the San Francisco show, as well as most manufacturer's cars from SEMA. Asian automakers also tend to automakers do more concepts here than domestics.

With Lincoln-Mercury moved back to Detroit, we won't be the 1st to see any new Lincolns anymore.

Last year, Chevrolet debuted the Cobalt and Ford debuted the production Ford GT here. Couple of years ago, Ford debuted the FortyNine here in LA to the press, then air shipped it overnight to be in Detroit's show, So anything's possible.

I'll be there January 5th and possibily again on the 11th, though I doubt it at the moment.

The H3T was moved to Detroit for media because we demanded it. I think it stayed for the public also. That was a hot concept.

Your sneek preview night is CHEAP! Our is $500 per couple and is referred to as the "Black Tie Charity Event." They also have the bar open for media here for NAIAS as well.

Man i'm going to hate miss going this year.

It debuts both days on the 11th. The 11th here at the Detroit Opera House in the evening hours for a special VIP event and will go on display in L.A. on the 11th sometime during the day. That is how it has typically gone, so I'm to assume it is that way again this year.

I wonder if there is going to be a live broadcast on tv or the net?

Or did I miss that.

I'm only in with the LA show.

Seems GM is doing their future introductions here in Cali, while unleashing their concepts and future cars in Detroit & Chicago.

Audi is releasing a new A4? What model year, 2006? Wow, that is only 4 years since 2002, the intro of current A4.

Are there any pictures floating around?

I'm guessing it will be a mild redesign to go with their locomotive front grille look.

The A4 got new front and rear ends , all else in between in the same . The 02-05 A4's are one of my favorite cars on the market , so Im kinda having a hard time warming up to the new big mouth grill . It does look sweet though . Mild inside , new steering wheel ( bye bye cool 3 spoke ) , navagation avail , otherwise interior is the same . Theres alot of mechanical changes , the highlight being the direct inj. 2L turbo and direct inj. V6 . I dont have the specs handy at the moment , but the power increase with both is pretty significant

I remember seeing that 2.0L I4 Turbo will make 200 HP. A little overdue, if you ask me, and by 2006 that will not be enough for a base engine in a luxury sedan. However, current 1.8T A4 is my favourite car, and I don't look at the engine's current output. If 2.0L will prove to be as moddable as 1.8, there will be no problems with power (torque specifically) with a simple ECU flash.
