Is the military going to end up not using humvees anymore? Or is there a military H2?

You don't really think that a Tahoe with fancy sheetmetal is going to replace this, do you?

hehe! Nope

I used to live next to a military base in Louisiana (Fort Polk) and I have seen them in action, they are pretty much unstopable.

Well, I guess according to this crowd, no one should ever bother to take their trucks offroad. I guess we all need to take that $90,000 out of our accounts, and go buy a H1.

some of you guys are so narrowminded its pathetic. if it isnt about an f-body(hell some still fight over which flavor f-body is better) you really lay into it.

it looked like driver error. the tie rod broke. big freakin deal. does anyone know how this h2 was driven before hand? maybe this guy drove full bore into a curb to show how cool his h2 was. maybe he was even tryingto see how high/far he could jump to impress his peers. point is, you dont know how this h2 was treated. i am sure there are many videos out there showing similar incidences from a widerange of vehicles. i think this mostly stems from a jealousy from a lot of you because you do not have the means to aquire one.

dont get me wrong, i am not saying the h2 is the "end all" for 4x4's. just trying to get you to think before trashing something.

I don't think anyone is saying that someone shouldn't go four wheeling with what they have. I'm not an off-roader myself...but I know guys that are. They break stuff all the time...I think it's the nature of the sport.

As long as the people who buy H2's to go off-roading, know that they are ALL Chevy truck....NOT Humvee's.

Comne on... I doubt it's jealousy. More like most people just don't care for it. I guess I have the means to posses one - I could sell my C5 and then eat mac and cheese for a year. Yet I don't WANT one. The H2 *is* a pricey, slow, cumbersome gas-guzling, vehicle with avearge build quality. Two people at my workplace have bought them - I'm not impressed. And because we live in a democracy, I will feel free to ridicule it for what it is and what it represents. It's a lump of metal and plastic - it isn't going to get hurt feelings!

If I really want something that can go offroad (oh, yeah and has some real utility to boot), I'll buy a real truck (as opposed to a yuppified SUV) and add a lift kit.

I'd say the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4x4 is the best factory off-road vehicle next to the H1.
