Must find.... must!!
Must find.... must!!
I actually have a thousand-dollar bet on paper that I am right on this.. I said that the Camaro will most likely reappear in 2005, and the firebird is pretty much dead.. this guy insists it's the other way around.. I know that Car Craft, or GM magazines have done an article that states exactly what I said... does anyone have this article or something that says the similar laying around that they can send to me? my email is Angel of Camaro@aol.com.. someone please let me get some $$! That's atleast a few pounds..
There was some sort of agreement with the place in canada that maunfactured the f-body. Apparently GM can't reuse the name Camaro until 2007 at the earliest.
There is no word on the firebird, and why would they when they are about to reintroduce the GTO.

Nah, not stupid bet.. this is a dumb **** that's about 300lbs, 5'2, and loves imports.. says Car and Driver said Firebird will surely make an appearance in 2005. I know this isn't true, but I do know there is word on Camaros.. this is what I must prove... the word on Camaros and the lack of word on Firebirds.

Secondly, as an employee of GM I can tell you that Pontiac is taking over the performace world of GM. Chevrolet will become more of the economy/family/work-horse of the bunch.

Thanks for the insider info!

Check the Autoweek website at www.autoweek.com or some of the other magazine websites and seach the archives or articles for Camaro. You should be able to find something on it.
Crazyjim might work for GM, but the info that we all have here on this sight says that a Camaro is in the works most likely for 2007MY release. There was a rumor that Solsitice would be called Firebird, but there's nothing concrete that I've seen here that really points to that happening.
The Chassis that would most likely carry the Camaro won't be produced in the US till 2006 and can be used for pontiac or chevy...so says a quote from Bob Lutz. GTO will be redesigned on the platform not Firebird.
Go to www.gminsidenews.com and read the article there. So far I've seen more accurate things sooner from that sight than almost anything in the auto magazines.

IMHO it's a dumb bet since no one will know 100% sure till it's in the showrooms, but here's the info as it stands:
1. If Solstice is renamed Firebird, it will be out in 2005 as a 2006 car.
2. Camaro in all probability and almost certainty will be out sometime before the 2007 calendar year. But definately not in 2005, or as a 2005 model year car.
In short, if Solstice is renamed Firebird, your 300 pound, 5'2" friend wins. If Solstice keeps it's name, then you are $1000 richer (assuming your friend even has the money).
If I were you, I'd find someone on GM's product planning board, and get them in on a cut of the winnings to ensure the outcome. Either way, Camaro isn't dead, so you have a loophole.

Ok, first of all. Why did we need to know what he looked like?

With Pontiacs you have the Vibe, the GTO, and the Solstice that they're still hunting a motor down for.
