Just realized something funny about Lincoln..
Just realized something funny about Lincoln..
Despite being able to picture every car in their line up in my head..outside of Navigator..I can't think of any of their actual names. I know they are all MK......something?
I am sure that was not the idea Ford had when doing this?

IIRC that's why Cadillac went that route as well.
Not with the BMW, or Audi. They're the easiest to follow.
Acura? A bit of a tough time, though I can do it (TSX, TL, RL, RDX, MDX).
I even learned Mercedes' C-class, E-class, and S-class. Anything beyond is just not doable, and is actually retarded IMO.
Lincoln? Complete blank.
Mercedes and Lincoln are both atrocious and are the worst. Cadillac is not too far behind.

The new MKS now will suck the lights out of an LT1 Camaro and will keep up with the LS1 till both pass 60.
Not bad for a 2 ton car being moved by a turbo V6.
But I agree with you about the names.
They aren't memorable.
Bob: "Hey, Steve, you got that little BMW convertible thingy!"
Steve, "Why yes, that's my new BMW Z4 sDrive 23i!"
Bob: "Yeah, the little BMW convertible."
IMHO, the problem is where the odd letter lands in the name. Caddy changes the first letter, which is easier to remember (CTS, DTS, STS, ect.). Lincoln changes the last letter (MKZ, MKS, etc.), which is more difficult to recall.
If they have to have an "MK" scheme..why not do it using numbers. MKII being small, and MKX being large. That being said..I don't know whats wrong with real names. MKS would make an excellent Continental. Just because the imports do it does not mean it's best.

We haven't been sitting around idle twiddling our thumbs all these years you know.
