Just a note from "the other side"...
Hi Guys/Gals. I know it's been a while since I posted here. I've been reading, but just haven't had much to say... not really much good news to speak of, and I'm not the type to pour salt in a wound, so silence seems to be the best answer.
Anyhow, I was making some posts on another board tonight and came across this thread. I thought some of you just might like to know that I am definitely not the only one over there that appreciates the F-cars for all that they were.
I don't think we all truely realize how this loss is going to affect the ponycar market - or the Mustang itself. Only time will tell.
I guess I just wanted to offer all of you my sincerest condolences regarding the current loss of these Amarican Legends. I don't even own one, but I've had a sour feeling in my stomach all day long. My feeling today that resembles how I feel when a favorite celebrity dies or when I lose a freind.
And BTW - my lights were on.
Hang in there gang. Here's hoping that we all see a speedy return of the Camaro / Firebird.
Sincerely,
Proud

Very respectable post/thread. Glad to see that Mustang owners do know that Camaro offers more bang for the buck. I hope that we can renew the rivalry in 2009 or whenever...

I can hontestly say that if our positions were reversed I would have no hesitation in repeating the same accolades for the mustang. With the exception of best bang for the buck. It took two companies with two different platforms to get to where we got.

Thanks to all you guys who have acknowledged this thread.
I especially want to thank F_O_G for coming over to Stangnet and posting on that thread over there. Man, that was a super-classy thing to do and a great [edit]literary peice with a sound message.
Guys like this are why I come here - true "car guys" with appreciation for a car's heritage -regardless of brand or model- and the brotherhood it can provide those of us willing to recognize it.
Keep hangin' on guys!
