The '99 Nomad is still around...now black rather than the original Turquoise color.........and guess what the drive-train and floorpan were????

(A Camaro! came out of our development fleet and at least once a year, the VIN still comes up and someone's looking for this Camaro that no longer exists.........)

Interesting tidbit........fuel capacity was about 3 gallons.......in a tank under the floor...packaging was a nightmare...which tends to be the problem with concept vehicles.........

Over the past 2 years we've bought the 02 Monte SS and the 04 Grand Prix GTP... I'm trying to do my part!

Maybe we could start an "F-Body" collection to help push things along!

We once had a Deville as a development car for the current generation of Deville. What they had done was cut the car in half, remove part of the middle section, and then weld it back together.

That was all well and good, but in so doing the gave us a 3 gallon gas tank, AND gave us a mock-up of the instrument panel and dash in white.

Shiny (Armor-All) black dashes are bad enough, try a high-gloss white one on for size sometime...

So, we gave one of our lab techs some black double-sided tape and told him to cover the entire dash with it since you couldn't see well enough to drive.

Worked out great, except it kept collecting dust and junk until finally you couldn't tell it was black double-sided tape.

Made for a peachy-keen dash-mounted cupholder. It would grab onto a styrofoam cup of coffee like nobody's business. We would have contests in the lot at CLCD to see who could spill the most water out of it. Through a very intense set of real-world tests, we deduced that a "Rockford Slam" was the most effective manuver for spilling the water out without tipping the cup.

The guys up in Flint were not happy when they got the car back since we had forgotten to remove the tape...
