J. Mays asks for Mustang feedback at thecarconnection!

The years I was a Mustang owner & went to events where Ford/Team Mustang reps were present, what I 1st found amazing & then later took for granted is how much they solicit feedback & suggestions from owners. Although I haven't been to many Camaro events to date, I get the feeling that GM is a different beast.

On thecarconnection, J. Mays acctually posted in the future vehicles section at http://www.thecarconnection.com/foru...ARENT_ID=40773

If anyone has input, better go there quickly. That site is known to have alot of trolls, who I suspect will hijack the thread soon.

I think everyone saw that comming. Ford putting out concept pics of the new Mustang then asking the MB's how they felt about it. Maybe a bad idea, maybe not...

How neat that he would do that. Generally speaking, I find that Mustang enthusiasts pretty much agree (within certain parameters), on what they want their cars to look like.

Can you imagine Wayne Cherry coming here and asking us what we want out of a future Camaro? I suspect he may think he's at the wrong site. For better or worse, we don't seem to have the unanimity that Mustang people have.

Make it bigger. Make it smaller. Retro. NO retro. Two seats. No, bigger back seat with rear pocket doors. Lot's of scoops, no scoops, blackout trim...........etc.,etc.,......................... ......
..........I WANT A BIG BLOCK.....................................blah.bla h,blah.

I hope if we ever get a new Camaro, people at GM design (like Brian Nesbitt, the guy who designed the PT Cruiser)...are smart enough to get out alittle ahead of us, and give us a modern appealing design, that breaks new ground yet stays true to tradition ....and just knocks our socks off.

You got that right. I think what I (and many of my friends) want from the 5th gen Camaro is exactly opposite of what many of you want.

Perhaps this type of discrepency between our opinions reflects some of the reasons why the Camaro didn't sell as well as the Mustang.

BTW: Reading the message board at thecarconnection.com hurt my eyes after a few minutes. I would have really liked to read further, but DAMN, reading 6 pt. font is hard on my eyes.

You're right too. I think that what we have here is forum full of frustrated GM enthusiasts. We are all dreaming of our Impalas/Chevelles/Novas/cheaper Corvettes/ modernized Camaros....and looking to Camaro to encompass all of this.

Camaro is what it is. It's always supposed to have been a compact, superbly styled, fantastically powered, great handling, affordable, "gotta have", performance pony car.

Maybe when GM comes on line with a variety of RWD performance choices...some of these needs will be satiated....and after the shake out, Camaro can get more focused....and be what it always has been.....a CAMARO.

I know John Colleti (sp?) has been doing some sh** talking. He's basically been telling the competition to bring it on. Now if there's a single person in GM headquarters with a pulse and a heart beat, a beastly 5th gen should already be in the works.

There is a guy who posts on here who works for GM pretty high up. He listens to what we have to say, and points out when we are crazy and out of line. His username is Red Planet but it's really Scott Settlemire. Shhhh, don't tell anyone I told you guys, he could get in real trouble!

GM's D.O.D. runs on either 8 cylinders or 4 cylinders. No 6 cylinder mode. V8 and V4 modes provide an even firing order. V6 does not.

If Ford put half as much effort into their quality as they do trumpeting their newfound performance edge then I think they'd really have something....

Ford finally started listening to their real enthusiasts back in 98. There were a bunch of polls and flyers handed out to their Cobra customers and other enthusiasts asking what they would like to see change or improve on. Everyone got exactly what they wanted according to one of the polls I partaked on in 98...... = 03 Cobra. It just took them a little while to do it, but they did DO IT!

C'mon GM.... lets see some action on this.

Err, just checked out the link, bunch of brown noses in there trying to suck up. Why don't they go to the mustang forums and get some real feedback. I put my $.02 in quite clear I hope.
