Interesting thing on Chevrolet.com

This probably means nothing but, remember how for the 2003 Model year Chevrolet removed the Camaro page from the website? Well, if you visit Chevrolet.com right now, it has the Camaro back up under cars listed as "Camaro- 2002." Was SS pulling something in GM to keep knowledge of the Camaro alive until its reintroduction?

I wouldn't read into it to that extent. It's because there are still Camaros and Firebirds on dealer lots waiting to be sold.

Actually I don't think it ever went away. I've been accessing the Camaro page ever since the 2003 model pages went up and to my recollection the 2002 Camaro has always been there. And as the others posted, since there are still 2002's on the dealer lots...

Anything's possible, but it's more likely a webmaster screw up.

As long as there are a few left on the lot, they will be on the website. I'd say after the first of the year, adios!!

The Camaro page on Chevy.com had some stuff that wasn't supposed to be on it and it was taken off. That was the why it was down for a bit. Nothing really important or anything to be alarmed about other than the fact the car is no longer in poduction.

Was it stuff that said "The all new Camaro, coming soon"?

The Camaro page DID disappear for a short time when they updated the site... they re-added the 2002 Camaro page after receiving a lot of complaints about it being gone.

It has been for over a month now. It was only 'missing' for about 3 days.

Actually I was wondering about this too. Did you notice that pontiac updated there website also? The firebird is still there with a new look as well?

However a few months ago I was making several calls per day per week to chevy pontiac and GM. (I got calls in from detroit ) and they asid something to the extent such as "Actually the camaro will not be completely wiped out we will still be making some camaro's and selling them as 2001 and 2002 models."

They've made all that they're going to make. Anything that's left is a 2002 and once those are all sold, that's it.

Just drove past a Pontiac dealer in National City CA today. If anyone's interested, they still have 2 special edition Trans Ams. The one in the showroom is a convertible, and the one in the lot is a t-top. I didn't get the price, but back in the summer, they were pushing a t-top version for over $40,000. I imagine these are going to be alot more than that.
