Indian Jags ! and Land Rovers too
As if it was bad enough when Ford owned Jaguar, now it gets passed to Tata motors. I wonder whats going to happen to Jaguar next.

Yeah sorry but an Indian company making prestigious 'European' luxury cars just isn't going to appeal to most of the world. The only way Tata is going to make this work is if they find some way to at an absolute minimum maintain quality control and design quality to the standard its at today, if not surpass it, to show the world that Tata owning them isn't a detraction point.
I really really doubt that's going to happen. Or even if it does, people are going to become quite a bit more critical of the cars and blame it on the new owners of the companies and the cars are going to lose most of their prestige.
To me this was a dumb move on Tata's part. To Ford... well I guess it's a good thing as they never did much worthwhile with those companies anyway.

The Ford executives who made this deal must be laughing hysterically. They got the best part of this deal.
Here's how it went down:
Ford: "Ok, we'll sell you the one of the lowest-selling mass-produced car brands in the world, which has not turned a profit in decades, and we'll throw in Land Rover. All you have to do is give us $2 billion."
Tata: "Sure! This sounds like a great idea! Even though Jaguar sells less cars than Porsche, we'll take it!"
